Right In the Middle – IOTW Report

Right In the Middle

Note: I really did look for pictures of pesticaters other than kitties. Seems like most of our critters are well behaved except for kitties, who love to be in the middle of whatever we are doing.

Images from:

1 Ghost – (Buds) in Bedford Falls
2 Marilyn (Rebel) in middle of my desk, old pic, hence the computer. Maybe he is waiting for a fax?
3 Marilyn (Rhett [aka Clark Gable]) never had a cat prefer to be in middle of cushion and chair.
4 forcibly deranged (Kilo) Chilling in the cooler.
5 forcibly deranged (Logan)
6 Little Sis (Pistol) “Helping” with unpacking
7 Debbie (Toby)
8 Sturge

Submit your critter pictures for an upcoming Sunday Critters. Please email them to:

crittersiotwr@earthlink.net

They must be a picture you (or family/friend) took and are willing to have us publish them on this site. Do not send any images you found on the internet.

Use ‘Critters’ in the subject line. Include your screen name in the body of the email. Tell me the name of your critter so I can include it with your screen name. Let us know in the comments any other info you want to share!

NEEDED: If you send me pictures for any of the following themes, please tell me the name of the theme they are for.

  • Furless critters (feathers, scales, etc.) – Please have your pictures in to me by Friday Noon.
  • Random critters. Will pick from the backlog of pictures that are waiting for a theme. They need to be seen, so the theme will be “Random Critters”. Ok, I had a busy week, so my creativity is sleeping! Thhbbbbttt

Thanks!

  1. Cats love to climb into boxes, etc. Our feral cat has taken up residence in a large basket I was going to donate to a thrift store. Looks like Ms. Feral has claimed it as her own. God put critters here to make us laugh and wonder.

  2. Thanks Claudia. I love the expressions, or non expressions, because they are telling us whose in charge.
Is Buds saying, “take that George Bailey”.
    All great cat pics.

  3. The dog looks at you and thinks to himself,
“You feed me, you shelter me, you love me. You must be GOD!”

  4. Funny critters who do funny, unexpected things. I don’t think anyone could ever figure out why cats do the things they do. But I love ’em for it. Our furry friend’s antics provide us a lot of chuckles.

Don’t get me wrong, I also very much appreciate dogs, horses, and birds. They are all gifts from the creator.

  5. What ? You don’t think I have a right to be here?

Well, I don’t know why I came here tonight
I got the feeling that something ain’t right
I’m so scared in case I fall off my chair
And I’m wondering how I’ll get down the stairs

Clowns to the left of me
    Jokers to the right
    Here I am
Stuck in the middle with you

Yes, I’m stuck in the middle with you
And I’m wondering what it is I should do
It’s so hard to keep this smile from my face
Losing control, yeah, I’m all over the place

Clowns to the left of me
    Jokers to the right
    Here I am
Stuck in the middle with you

  6. …I love this BFH painting even more because he captured her eyes so well. Mini is not a young puppy, and, God bless her, she’s gone blind since this was taken.

Her eyes don’t shine like that any more, but her spirit still shines, now and forever.

Thank you for this piece, Claudia, and thank you for the painting, BFH.

    God Bless,
    SNS

  7. Evenin’ everyone. Wow, made the marquee!

The Paul Harvey ‘rest of the story’ behind the pic is that after we set up the layout the night before, the next morning, I came down being the first one to wake up and walked past the ‘sun room’ and then I did a DOUBLE TAKE.

Walked over and just looked at him. He looked up at me. I went to get the camera quickly and got lucky. All here who post know that with ANY critter its about timing.

He IS like a Ranger, he has many spots he hides in, tries to get into the attic, and goes into the depths of the dark basement and yes does exhibit serious stealth qualities. He got into the center of the Village, like a float of sorts, right behind the girl scouts! Full protection of course.

After I took the pic, I left (to check IOTW this was on a Sunday no less, critter morning) and then when I went back to look, MINUTES later, he was gone, and there was only ONE casualty and the was a majorette band leader in the rear, must have gotten ‘whacked’ by the tail on the way out…in and out.

Oh, Buds is about 15-18 lbs…a big boy.

Took down the Village today, :>(, but not before I took a couple of vids for IOTWer’s to enjoy!

For the record the tree and manger are still up. Everything else down now…cept for the outdoor lights, did not get to that today.

@Marilyn – Hilarious! Perhaps he is coding by now then?

    Thanks so much C!

  8. @Ghost, Buds has such a great face, as if to say, what are you lookin at?
You sound like me, finished taking down everything except Nativity and tree. I did get outside done..

@Supernightshade, what a sweet face on Mini, sorry to hear about her sight. But great painting from BFH!

All we can do is love them and help them for as long as they and God allow.

My guy on left Rebel, I lost him last year, his brother on right,Clark had to rush to Emer vet 3 days before Christmas this year, luckily, all OK.

Best to all this New Year, and pray for our President!

  9. “Whattayalookinat?” – per Marilyn.

“Oh, as if you did not expect this?”

“Can we talk about this later?”

    “okay, okay I’ll get down…in a minute”

“But you made it so organized, I just had to”

“Bonnie and Clyde (the others) dared me do it”

    “yeah…so?”

    “Breakfast?”

    “Picture taking time?”

Put that all together and that is Buds and your average…Cat.

That pic is one in a pet lifetime…a major one. We get a big kick out of him.

I’ll commission @BFH one of these days!

  10. @Claudia – this post reminds me of the doggie critter thread when they looked all guilty for doing something wrong! Here we appear to have the opposite.

    Pistol and Toby…look busy…Sturge is Tiiiiired….

@Marilyn – Are Rhett and Rebel brothers or sisters or both??!

Oh the differences between the children I’ll tells ya…

  11. “Strange, isn’t it? Each man’s life touches so many other lives. When he isn’t around he leaves an awful hole, doesn’t he?”

My dad past away 32 years ago and this post is amazing. Critters, trains and family.

Trains are the worlds oldest hobby. Take it from me…

  12. @ Mary Hatch – Let’s all pray that yours and mine own town in America, a little ‘Bedford Falls’ or ‘Willoughby’ or Bailey Park does not become a Pottersville…

  13. “How am I doing, Joseph? Thanks…. No, I didn’t have a drink!”

    Also,

“Dear IOTWer’s, remember no man or woman is a failure who has friends.”

  14. When you see horses running together, like at the race track, it is art in motion. It is an awe-inspiring sight, something to remember and savor: running at full speed, their manes and tails bobbing behind them. Horses are magnificent animals.
