Loved her music. Can’t wait to read the articles about all the lawsuits that will be filed by family members fighting over her estate. RIP, Aretha.

Aretha. A reminder that music did once exude soul.
21
RIP Aretha Franklin, she was good. My favorite music videos are the ones that show a series of photographs through out the song instead of try to wow us with special effects.
11
I hope she had lots of happy times in her life.
16
The heavenly choir has a new voice. RIP Aretha

Rest well, Aretha. 🙁

I hate doing the powerpoint slide shows as it will almost always do the zoom in on some girls crotch, not suitable in church of the HS grads

How fortunate she was to be blessed with an incredible talent and how lucky we were that she shared it with us.

I saw Aretha at the House of Blues in Las Vegas 10 or 15 years ago. She was HUGE and performed wonderfully!

From what I’ve heard, her passing was a blessing, so I’m gonna try to stay upbeat about it. Rest in peace, Queenie…

I heard the same thing. I guess she was fighting cancer for quite a while. Loved her stuff, especially your link. Elvis died on 8/16/77. Weird.
9
Sigh… Better times.
RIP Aretha.

Another star from the soundtrack of our lives is gone.
8
God, please hold her soul in your Loving Arms. We pray this in Jesus’ Holy Name.
We thank You for giving her a wonderful voice to lift us up and give us joy.

Never looked at fuzzy slippers the same way……
RIP.

Accidentally posted before the THANK YOU and RIP.

Loved her voice. My most recent memory of her was that hat she wore to O’s inauguration. Only Aretha could pull that off.
5
Her music is from a by-gone era, I’m not sure I remember that part of it, but it was probably Detroit’s water that croaked her. I wonder what she thought about the kneelers, blm, Barry, Mitch, and tearing down Americas’ statues.

Obama ass-tonguer… one less rich life-long dem who will donate to destructive dem policies

@Anonymous: I can appreciate someone’s talent even if they’re a libtard.

Perhaps the MSM will refrain from bashing Trump today and do tributes to her.
Maybe just 23 hours going after Trump.

And, right on-cue, one of the networks had to make it all about Obama, showing his face with a tear running down his cheek when he heard the news. Funny, i don’t remember any tears for our guys in Benghazi, but then they were all white.
Yeah, BB…it is weird. And apparently Robert Johnson died on this date, too, in ’38…
Also wanna say RIP for Clarence Clemens in that video. Always loved him on the sax. The Big Man. Loved the whole E Street Band, actually. Damn shame Bruce Springsteen turned out to be such a complete asshole.

My opinion, for what it’s worth, the only thing that made Born To Run worth a shit was that Sax.

@PHenry–
Yup. Loved her performance (“THINK”) in the Blues Bros movie.

Bye ‘Retha, loved it, mean it.
@Anon, pound sand.

Carter, as far as I know she pretty much kept politics, other than endorsements, to herself. Very refreshing nowadays.

Thinking back, so many fine memories of when talent was real. Duets from the 60’s, 70’s and 80’s, black and white together just talent and talent together. Solo early in the 60’s on so many true variety shows, Ed Sullivan, Dean Martin and that lot which no longer exist because it would be called “limiting” or God knows what else it would be called today (certainly not “Late Night”). Duets, never coveted by race, Elton John, Annie Lennox, Bonnie Raitt, The Rolling Stones and on and on. To all the commenters that have already said it above, The Blues Brothers. Matt “Guitar Murphy”, Aretha and Ray Charles made that a classic everyone should see, “Think”. She represented and proved how talent needs to be shared, it is the content of yourself. My memory of Aretha Franklin will always be grateful. Thank you and RIP,

@OpenTheDoor… Which I am sure is code meaning my back door is open. There are plenty of other “talented” lefties that you can get an early start on building memorials for. I’m sure Barbra Streisand, Bette Midler, Jane Fonda and the rest will greatly appreciate your donations and tears for them. And of course you’ll do it too despite the incalculable damage that these people’s money and fame supporting their liberal cause has done to this country.
You’ll just fondly remember them as you vigorously finger your asshole.
@ Anon – why so sour? Why do you compare mediocrity with excellence?
@ LadyGun12 – correct, music comes first, then they could be whatever. IF we hate their politics that much we don’t listen. Quite simple.
This is the full scene when Aretha has some real hum dinger
descriptions of the BB’s. It might not last on YT.
The world is now just a little sadder place.
RIP.
RIP Aretha. Thank you for enriching my life.
RIP, Queen of Soul.

🎶 you’d better think….
She was a testament to God’s grace and mercy. Thank you, Father for gifting the world with Aretha Franklin!

One of the greatest collection of music and comedic talent.
Also, I noticed on the radio news how she was the ‘first woman’ to get into the RRHOF. No mention of being the First Black Woman?
Words can be difficult…
R.I.P to the Queen of Soul
Nothing but R-E-S-P-E-C-T
@LadyGun12: You know Anonymous is a troll, so why bother responding to him?
