RIP Mr. Imus! That nappy headed ho comment sure cost him some bucks.

Albeit there was a ten year separation between us, we worked for the same radio station.

I remember why Don got fired from KJOY Stockton…back in 1969 in the middle of all the racial tension in California, he wanted to have an Eldridge Clever Look-A-Like contest! Matt and I had this discussion last year, I wish I could have made the reunion.

Sorry if I gave away a hint to your advanced years Matt! 🙂

I also remember when Don had a garbage truck converted into an RV and picked up Bob Smith (aka Wolfman Jack) at the airport in New York when he signed with NBC Radio back in the day.

never was a big fan, but respect that he went by his own rules & did his own thing. he could come up w/ some great schtick to point out the hypocrisy of the socialist Marxists

Doc: if only I were as advanced as my years!

Ah, this is sad news. I used to watch the I-Man’s show on MSNBC. It was the only show I watched on that station. I can remember Imus talking about Trump – how wickedly funny DJT was, and that was years and years ago, before The Apprentice even.

No comment. He can no longer defend himself.
Good Luck.

Awww… That’s sad. He was an original. Didn’t always agree with him or understand him but loved the fact he didn’t give a feck.

I used to love his bits with Bernard and Fat Al Grossman(?) And his banter with Tim Russert and Jeff Greenfield. As one the Earls, I got to open for him during his stand-up days (80’s-90’s). Larry Chance, lead singer and driving force of the Earls, was also several characters on the show: Rainbow Johnson and Heraldo Santana Banana. Imus had a ton of great country artists on. In fact he pulled Delbert McClinton out of the C list and into stardom. It pissed me off that he never had prostate surgery like I did (with all of its sorry ass symptoms.) He treated it holistically and that could have been his undoing. He will be missed by this fan.

Give him his due – but he never was my cup of tea – called him mr. Anus.
Did appreciate his taste in music and bringing back some old country music.

I loved Don Imus. His show was hilarious everyone and his brother were on it. I remember one time Father Jonathan was on, his boiler at the church gave out and there was no heat and Father was a little late, Imus was making a big deal about being so close to the studio and so late. The next day the boiler was fixed no charge thanks to Imus. On his last day before moving to Texas, I sat in my living room and cried because I knew no one in this world would ever take his place. Boundless wit and criticism blended well. Rest now in the light of Christ
