  1. The true end of an era in my life. I grew up watching Doris Day and Rock Hudson movies as a child of the 1960’s. Such a talented and lovely person. An animal lover and I’ve read a true friend. RIP dear Angel.

  2. Old-timers around here say back in the 50s Miss Day snuck out of Chicago to for a short vacation on my lake. She didn’t stay at our resort (but Ted Williams did) but up the lake at another place with a nice beach.

  3. We used to have Doris Day and now we have Bette Midler. God help us.
Hoping they’ll run a tribute of Lover Come Back or Pillow Talk. Both hilarious.
Probably the last Hollywood star with class.

  4. Way too bad. A lot of people don’t know she was a successful big band/torch singer before making it in the movies. Her movies with Rock Hudson were great, they were the perfect foil for each other. I gather she was actually a very nice person when off screen which is so unlike our “stars” of today. Rest in Peace Ms. Day. Rest assured all the dogs (and cats) you saved will come to escort you to the bridge.

  5. I saw “Pillow Talk” on Siesta Cinema in 1965 – I was 13. I was amazed that people would pay someone to do interior design (Doris Day was an interior decorator). I found out everything I could about Interior Design, went to the University of Manitoba, Faculty of Architecture and ended up with a 30+ year career in commercial design – specializing in hospitality design. And it was ALL because of Doris Day in “Pillow Talk”.
