RIP Mike Sexton – IOTW Report

RIP Mike Sexton

Sometimes I just have to post even tough I know the vast majority of people will not know who he was.

Sexton was a poker legend, a gymnast, avid ballroom dancer and all around good guy.

He was also a topnotch poker commentator alongside longtime colleague Vince Van Patten.

  1. Played nickle, dime, quarter poker quite a bit when I was younger… used to host a Thursday night game at my apartment until some asshole jumped up screaming he was going to kill everyone because he was down $10…. I had to put him out of ….. my apartment and canceled Thursday night card games.
    Requiescat in Pace Mr. Sexton.

  2. He was a lot of fun to watch and he was probably the best commentator who helped new or occasional players understand why the pro’s bet, pushed all in, folded etc on a hand. He certainly improved my game through the years. I think his proudest moment (at least he sure looked damn happy) was in 2016 when he entered his first tournament in some time (the WPT Montreal Main Event) and took the title. The whole tv crew and the pro players knocked out were rooting for him. RIP Mike, by the by don’t try to bluff when playing with the Lord.
