We missed this when it was in the news. Thank you to FDR in Hell for alerting me.
Peter Thomas was the voice of Forensic Files (as well as thousands of other gigs.) I could listen to this man narrate a bus schedule. He passed away 4 days ago.
Here’s an interview with Peter Thomas that is simply great —>
If you do not want to commit to a long video, here is an article that will detail just what kind of patriot Mr. Thomas was.
I’m right there with you, Fur. I used to watch hours and hours of Forensic Files, The New Detectives, etc.
Thomas wasn’t a big star by any means, but he provided me with way more entertainment than anyone walking the red carpet today.
(Also want to add that, for me, Bill Kurtis is a fairly close second.)
WOW.
Peter Thomas replaced Bill Kurtis in my rankings, only edging him out because Peter Thomas was such a wonderful patriot.
Maybe if I discovered more good things about Kurtis he would move back to number one.
But I was turned off a little by Kurtis’s work for NPR. I know a gig is a gig. But .. NPR????
For the record, I prefer Bill Kurtis’s VO for crime drama, but Peter Thomas was so good on Nova.
But, Bill Kurtis has the whole Ron Burgundy movie…
It’s close.
lol

Oh, and in case Lucifer asks, you have no idea who recommended the link. Thanks. 😉
Coincidentally I just DVRed a dozen Forensic Files and have been going through them. Great great narration by Thomas.
Forensic Files and New Detectives are on Netflix.
A remarkable man and patriot.
Similar style as Bill Kurtis. Can listen to both all day.
I hired Peter Thomas to do voice-overs when I worked for Pepsi about 30 years ago. He was a consummate professional and delightful man. Nice to know he was such a patriot as well.
Interesting. I’ve never heard of him nor the programs mentioned. But I do get comments all the time about having a “voice for radio”. . . too bad I also have a face for radio 🙁
Loved football as a kid, so I got a John Facenda thng
He wrote a poem he named Omaha Beach.
