My brother used to crank up ‘The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down’ too loud on his 8 track player when I was trying to sleep. And I saw The Last Waltz movie more than once at the old movie houses in DC. Good times.

Thank you for the music, Mr. Robertson.
May you be in heaven an hour before the devil knows you’re dead.

I first heard The Band at a college party . The horns and piano made a great festive atmosphere. I thought it was older kids’ music. I eventually grew into it. Mr. Robinson – the last of the true troubadours , thank you for making the soundtrack for so many of my great memories.

Me in the car yesterday:
“No, honey…Robert Robertson, not Robert Pattinson. Go back to your phone. And somebody should tell the DJ that it’s Robbie, not Robert.”

My entire family was subjected to listening to The Band on every road trip. My now mid-30’s kids play it at home to their kids. It’s pretty timeless and wonderful stuff. Glad it was a part of my youth.
Clever use of weights as the thumbnail…
wow … that’s a kick in the pants
yeah, we’re all getting older, & the passing of those that made our youth & young adulthood a little bit better in some way, makes us feel even older … & sadder

RIP and happy trails. Thank you for the music.
Scared the hell out of me. With the pic of the plates I thought you miss spelled one of my hero’s last name.
