WFB: Beto O’Rourke, the former congressman and failed Senate candidate jockeying for position in the crowded “straight white male” lane of the Democratic presidential primary, has finally unveiled a policy proposal. The candidate published on his campaign website Monday an ambitious plan to combat climate change—”the greatest threat we face”—to the tune of $5 trillion over the next decade.
“We have one last chance to unleash the ingenuity and political will of hundreds of millions of Americans to meet this moment before it’s too late,” O’Rourke said in a statement accompanying the plan’s release, echoing remarks he has made on the campaign trail comparing climate change to the threat the United States and the world faced from Nazi Germany and Japan during World War II.
The plan aims to achieve net-zero carbon emission in the United States by the year 2050, which O’Rourke’s campaign claims is “in line” with the ambitious goals laid out in the Green New Dealauthored by Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D., N.Y.). That is not entirely accurate. One of the first steps would involve introducing legislation in the first 100 days of O’Rourke’s administration that would establish a “legally enforceable standard” to ensure the United States gets halfway to net-zero emissions by 2030. However, a Green New Deal fact sheet published by Ocasio-Cortez’s office argued that the United States “must” fully achieve net-zero emissions by 2030 to ward off global catastrophe. more

How exactly is Net-Zero figured?
In business we talk about gross profit and net profit, the latter always being a lower value.
Gross profit is simply figuring the cost of making profit. For example, I buy something for $5 and sell it for $10, I have a gross profit of $5.
Net profit is when I add in my expenses to make that $5. Transportation, electricity, salaries, rent, etc. So it is possible that $5 item I sold for $10 is now a net loss of $3.
Anything below $0 is a loss. So if this GND has a target of net zero, how exactly is this calculated, especially when related to net profit? Something tells me net zero garbage I keep hearing about is impossible to achieve without disturbing another force in the equation. We cannot ever have a negative emission environment, but we can certainly have negative profitability trying to attain net zero emissions.
I’m specifically thinking of an article I read the other day by Sallie Mae. It asked students about student loan or loan fundamentals in general. Only about 1/3rd of the test group could answer simple problems such as what effect capitalized interest has on the principal balance of a loan.
As a result, I’ve come to conclude that this net zero bullshit is designed specifically to confuse college age stupid kids.

They cannot predict the weather for tomorrow, much less 12 years from now.
(and for the fools who parrot the absurdity that “climate isn’t weather!” that’s the equivalent of blathering that “forests aren’t trees!”)
Take the computer model. Enter as initial conditions (or the boundary values) those existing in 850 AD and see if the “model” predicts the Medieval Warming Period. If it does, it’s good. If it doesn’t, it’s false. Try the same model at 1350 AD and see if the “model” predicts the END of the Medieval Warming Period. Again, it either will or it won’t.
Then input the conditions PRIOR TO the Penultimate Global Period and the Last Glacial Maximum (which are separated by 100,000 years) and ascertain whether or not the “model” predicts them – AND their endings.
My guess is it won’t. Because it can’t.
