Rolling Thunder’s Saluting Marine – IOTW Report

Rolling Thunder’s Saluting Marine

He stands out there for hours, in D.C.’s sweltering sun, holding a salute for the riders of Rolling Thunder as they enter the nation’s capital the day before Memorial Day.  Retired Staff Sergeant Tim Chambers has been there for the last 15 years.  He’ll be out there again today.

  1. Marines are a different breed from every day Americans.

I happened to be headed west on I66 Friday afternoon and saw Rolling Thunder headed east into the DC area. Thousands of motorcycles. Even that was impressive.

  2. Thank-you Staff Sergeant Chambers–there are a lot of people who thank you for your service while on active duty and for your service now.

We were in DC in 2000 and were able to witness Rolling Thunder first hand–still gives me goosebumps.

  3. What can you say about that kind of devotion, respect, and love that one Marine can exhibit?
This old Sailor salutes this Marine and all Marines, past, present, and future, especially those that gave the last full measure……
    Sempre Fi Gentlemen…

  4. While we are at it, you tube force fed me some crap about some perverted young man who wanted to be a woman. That crap would gag a maggot! If they start this as the price for viewing you tube, they have seen the last of me!

  5. I still say the USMC Museum in Quantico is the finest museum I’ve ever seen.

It needs to be on your bucket list.

And it will take you a full day to see it. Probably longer if you read every last word on the displays.
