Rosey Grier Running for CA Governor

WaEx: A former NFL player and supporter of President-elect Trump announced on Thursday plans to run for the Republican nomination in California’s gubernatorial race when Democratic Gov. Jerry Brown leaves office at the end of 2018.

Rosey Grier, who played for the Los Angeles Rams, is 84 years old, but said he will be running in next year’s election because he wants to serve Golden State residents.

“Yeah, I’m going to run for governor. I think we can do a lot of good,” Grier told the L.A. Times. “I’ve spent my life serving my fellow man. I thought I would continue doing that.”  MORE

  1. Rosey is in his 80’s but a lot more spry than guys 20 years younger. He has the balls to do needlework, needlepoint in particular. I still have his needlepoint book he autographed back in 1974.

  2. He worked as a bodyguard during Robt Kennedy (D-carpetbagger, NY) Pres campaign of 1968. Subdued Sirhan the assassin after RFK was shot. Now he’s a Trump supporter and will run as a Repub. Maybe, like Reagan, he didn’t leave the Dem party, the Dem party left him?

  3. Hey, maybe Alan Page could run in Minnesota. He was the first defensive player ever voted as MPV in the NFL (only one other player since).
He was a supreme court judge in Minnesota for many years.

    Oh wait!…He’s a liberal…Never mind!
I know, how about Carl Eller, Jim Marshal, or Gary Larsen?
Fran Tarkenton could be campaign manager. 😉
