I love watching those old Autry westerns imagining what SoCal was like back then.
Gene Autry singing Christmas songs brings back warm childhood memories for me. My parents had an old LP with him on the cover standing in front of all the reindeer. I bought a Christmas CD of his several years ago and enjoy it every Christmas now.
This is a Gene Autry recording when he sang both male and female parts. Everyone knows that gender is what’s between the ears, not the legs, https://youtu.be/oDyFXMDdHD8
Larry, just for that we’re going to sic Pat Buttram on you, Gene Autry’s goofy sidekick and Mr. Haney on Green Acres, just because.
And his other sidekick Smiley Burnette, the one with the incredibly low bass voice that sounded like a frog croaking.
@Geoff, don’t pay any attention to “Larry The Liberal”. Everybody knows that’s just a fake screen name that BFH uses to troll the Conservatives and flush out the Commies here.
🙂
My neighbors had a whole set of 78’s of Gene Autry doing Christmas songs. Their kids and I played them all the time, back in the early 50’s.
