They accuse RYAN of not taking the bill seriously. It sounds a little like they weren’t too serious about the bill and that they were posturing and virtue signaling.
Three Democratic congressmen declared on Thursday that they will vote “no” on their own legislation if House Speaker Paul Ryan puts their bill on the floor.
Reps. Mark Pocan of Wisconsin, Pramila Jayapal of Washington and Adriano Espaillat of New York introduced the Establishing a Humane Immigration Enforcement Act earlier Thursday, which would abolish ICE within one year of enactment, and also assemble a commission tasked with setting up a new immigration enforcement agency.
Hours later, House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy announced he planned to bring the proposed “Abolish ICE” bill to the floor, reported The Hill.
The three congressmen promptly released a joint statement accusing Ryan of not taking their bill seriously, and as an act of protest, they will vote down their own legislation and instead use the opportunity to discuss Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals, President Donald Trump’s zero-tolerance immigration policy and ICE.
YAWN.
There is a better parade on.
Maxi-can’t of no bother
Hoisted Hypocrites.
Gotta love it!
Every time the sonsabitches pull this stunt on immigration they should be called on it. Say: OK we will schedule it for a vote ASAP.
Abolish Ryan
What a joke Congress has become
These people get paid tax payer money to waste time on nonsense or investigating each other
Vote all of them out in November. How much worse could it be with all new members!
Democrat: Want to fight? I’ll kick your ass.
Republican: OK, let’s get it on.
Democrat: Touch me and I’ll sue.
Didn’t Trump do this with Feinstein’s gun control legislation recently?
It should clear the air.
At the very least give a truthfully solid talking point that the Democrats aren’t serious.
How much worse could it be with all new members? Great point! Instead of untalented lawyers being taught how to “play the game” and line their own pockets. Never will they represent a true constituency (if you believe in Fair Elections) when A Mattel Speak and Say has more computing power than election machines. I have and will only acknowledge the US as the largest “Business” ever. Too long have phony self pocket lining loser lawyers do nothing than continue this 2 party pissing match BS. Yet a true constituency which will not recognize and hold this tripe responsible is doomed. So we continue to endure the MSM and just pull the handle for “your party” nonsense. Although I sense a light at the end of this tunnel, I prey it will get brighter. I can also hope the “I don’t give a “F”‘s start waking up to give a “F”. A big hope I know when so many are being given and promised they don’t have to for their vote. Just like a business, kick them to the curb, let their being taken care of run out. Until it hits them in their pocket it won’t make difference. MAUA = Make America United Again
This is actually a pretty good strategy. Put it to an immediate vote, it will be defeated by an overwhelming majority, and the dems will have to find some other BS campaign from now until November.
I hope Ryan still brings the damn thing to a vote. Let ’em vote against it and expose them for the grandstanding asses they are.
Moreover, I think it would be soooooooooooo cool if Trump could convince Putin to send the indicted Russians to America to stand trial. There is zero evidence. The trial would be exposed for the evidence-free sham it is and this would put the Russian collusion mess behind us, once and for all.
Be still my heart! …Lady in Red
I’ve thought for years, that if the GOP said they had a compromise bill that would allow amnesty for all illegals in the country right now, but, they would never be allowed to vote, you would see the same reaction from democrats. All they care about is votes, they don’t give two hoots about the welfare of the illegals.
“Well, you SAID you wanted bipartisanship, didn’t you?!?”
Congress is now just a comedy act vaudeville style. Well actually vaudeville acts had more class. Its way past due for the voters to wake up, bring out the hook and dump these butt holes and bring in some new acts that don’t belong to the uni-party group of clowns.
Could we just choose 535 random American citizens for Congress?
They would be accountable to their neighbors and I bet they would do a much better job than these corrupt career politicians (no, they are most certainly not “public servants”).
