Sad News About Peter Frampton

The legendary British guitarist from Britain has announced that his current tour will be your last chance to see him live. The 68-year-old Peter Frampton confided yesterday that he suffers from an incurable degenerative disease, inclusion-body myositis (IBM).

He’s been coping with the condition for years, with loss of balance and weakness in the limbs. Eventually the disease will also weaken his finger muscles which will interfere with his guitar playing. Before that happens the rock musician wants to go out on top with his final appearances this summer. More

  1. I saw him in 77 at the old Pontiac Silverdome with Steve Miller, J Geils and the Romantics. He was fantastic. Maybe I’ll see if I can catch him again. Thanks for the memories Peter.

  2. I will never forget me and my friend Kathie holed up in my room playing “Frampton Comes Alive” over and over again while staring at his beautiful face. When I discovered Peter and I had the same birthday, I was in heaven. I was convinced it meant we were destined to be together.

  3. @Loco – It was but unfortunately J Geils, if memory serves me right, only did three or four songs and the Romantics came out in matching red vinyl or rubber suits and nobody had really heard of them yet. Miller was top notch but Frampton was definitely the star of the day. Sounded exactly like his live album.

  4. Wah-wah pedal’s a distinct sound (Joe Walsh), but NOBODY worked the talk box like Frampton.

Just a little tidbit… my best friend wrote Frampton’s home loan (for a home in a small town somewhere in OH) and said he was the most humble, decent man.

  5. My Brother and all of His Friends had Vans with Murals on the side,

Beds in the back….and Linear Turntables….

I was 15 and they were all old Men at 19….My Brother was like

    Awesome childhood.

  6. “Over rated guitar player”? More like underrated. His studio recordings do not show half the talent he has when he plays live. Even the Frampton Comes Alive album did not capture what an incredible guitarist he is.

  7. All I know is that back in the late 70’s and early 80’s, every girl I boinked had his poster above her bed. I constantly felt like I was being survielled and under pressure to perform and developed a deep hatred for the guy. LOL

  8. @ Mr. Pinko. I didn’t stutter. I said overrated. Sorry if you don’t like my opinion on his lack of skill. Too bad punk. Like I said before, if rather listen to cats fighting. His music sucked.

  9. Yer a Dick Rick. And a troll who just can’t resist smearing shit on something he knows nothing about. You have mistaken this group for people who care about your opinion. No one does. Go be an asshole elsewhere.

  10. I’m not going anywhere gray. Sadly people like you can’t handle different opinions. Very clever with the Dick Rick remark. It truly shows your age. I’m guessing a senior, no wait a junior in high school.

  11. Of probably the all time 5 greatest live LP’s, Frampton was on 2 of them; “Frampton Comes Alive” and “Humble Pie, Rockin’ The Fillmore”. Of course the 70’s were halcyon days for iconic music, the high water mark IMO.

  12. @Rick – My life does not hinge on what some anonymous asshole on the internet says. You’ve obviously got me confused with someone who cares about your opinion. You answered for me Rick! Sorry I took so long to respond but I’ve got a elderly neighbor with a tree in her roof. When I’m done today patching her roof and checking on her well being we can continue. In the meantime you just keep stepping on others opinions.
