Sadly, She’s a Real Person: Pelosi says she feels connection to China since childhood

“When I was a little girl, I was told at the beach if I dig a hole deep enough we would reach China, so we’ve always felt a connection there.”

Post Millennial:

On Friday, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said that she’s “always felt a connection” with China at a press conference in Tokyo, where she was asked if China’s increased military aggression after her visit to Taiwan was a source of concern for US Leadership.

82-year-old Pelosi said in response to the question regarding Chinese aggression, “When I was a little girl, I was told at the beach if I dig a hole deep enough we would reach China, so we’ve always felt a connection there.”

As the Daily Mail reports, the phrase “dig a hole to China” is a well known joke often told by parents to children. The humor comes from the idea that if the child digs a hole deep enough they will come out on the other side of the earth. more here

  1. And so it went her entire life. Nancy digging big holes. Just look at the US national debt all those years that Pelousy ‘served’ as Speaker of the House.

  2. Good you brought that up. Under Trump the National debt went 37%. He added more than Obama & Bush combined. Trump, I will get rid of the national debt was just another f’n lie from the bankruptcy king.

  3. The national debt reached 27 trillion in October 2020 (under Trump).
The national debt rose now 31.4 trillion under Biden (two years into his administration).
More than two-thirds of government spending goes to mandatory obligations made by previous acts of Congress.
Paying off the national debt would be a significant undertaking. It would require some combination of sustained policy changes to increase taxes, cut government spending, create more jobs, and drive faster economic growth. Of those four items, Biden is only capable of one: Raising taxes.

    We are fucked once again.

  4. Rancid Nan’s primary connections are to
    — somebody else’s money
    — gin bottle
    — Botox needle

Aside: I’m so glad that the Post Millennial explained the “dig to China” joke. I never would have got it otherwise. </sarc> Who the hell needs that explained to them?!

  5. Well, I have a connection to Africa that goes back to my childhood.
I was told to clean my plate at dinner because of all the starving children in Africa.
Sidenote, I never have figured out how my eating food helps the starving kids, but oh well.
And then there’s the whole space connection, Mars and cigars, Jupiter and stupider.
Who knew all the nursery rhymes and kid’s games would serve us well in adulthood?

  6. I would have figured that the connection was the Chinese laundry that did her father’s shirts and gave her a lollipop when she went with the maid to pick them up.
