Fox News- For years, scientists believed the mighty San Andreas—the 800-mile-long fault running the length of California where the Pacific and North American plates meet—could only rupture in isolated sections.
But a recent study by federal, state and academic researchers showed that much of the fault could unzip all at once, unleashing a rare, singular catastrophe. Now, insurers have used that research to come up with a new analysis of the damage that could be caused by statewide break of the San Andreas.
Just think about all that contamination in the ocean. And all the Berkley environmentalists who would never get a chance to bitch about it.
global quake will be the first of the tribulation period, imho
this will start the chaos, to be followed by other significant natural disasters
sorry, off my meds
This story is nonsense. There are other circumstances that can cause severe damage though that are not related to the length of the fracture.
@Unruly refugee – Just think about all the Berkeley environmentalists contaminating the ocean. They would only get a few seconds to bitch about it.
heh-heh-heh!
Could be the start of a real Caxit.
Keep the popcorn handy! This is gonna be good!
I got some ocean front property in Arizona
From my front porch you can see the sea
I got some ocean front property in Arizona
If you’ll buy that I’ll throw the golden gate in free
We can only hope
Hey, lighten up guys – you know you would miss me. LOL
Didn’t Barky buy a mansion in Rancho Mirage? Is that east or west of the San Andreas?
Tomorrow??? Please?
If there’s a fault that’s due to actually unzip, it’s the Cascadia Fault. Sediment records exist for semi-periodic total release.
Did you hear that, S E A T T L E ???
Go ahead, build more bike lanes and eliminate street parking. That, alone will save lives by making people leave.

PLEASE dear God let that fault line run right thru Boo & Moo’s new pad when they get there of course.
The London Bridge in Lake Havasu will finally have a purpose.
*crosses fingers*
Would it be a bad thing to suggest to the incoming administration to bring the US into compliance with the START treaty and reduce our nuke stockpile to 0 nukes by setting them all off at once inside the san andreas fault? I see no downside to this.
I sure hope they secede first!
I just want to see Southern Cali drop in. I got friends in some of those places north west.
The damages barely add up to the cost of Obamalunch.
If we can convince enough people to stand on the coast line it will tip into the sea on its own.
It’s Obama’s fault!
