Seattle Dems’ Resolution Aims to Reverse Commitments to ‘Defund the Police’

Breitbart.

A Democrat Seattle council member’s recent resolution may end commitments to defund the police, a movement that was fueled by leftist protests.

Councilmember Rob Saka recently introduced Resolution 32167 that includes measures to appreciate first responders, police accountability, a diversified public safety response, and consent decree progress, Fox News reported on Saturday.

In addition, Saka on Tuesday told the Seattle City Council’s public safety committee, “This resolution reverses any prior commitment or pledge by past councils to defund or abolish the police. We know that these statements were routinely cited by departing police personnel as a reason for leaving. We also know that they are very divisive.”

In July 2020, a majority of the Seattle City Council backed a proposal to defund the city’s police by 50 percent, Breitbart News reported at the time.

The outlet noted that “Democrats have largely yielded to activists’ demands to ‘defund the police’ or even ‘abolish the police,’ with minimal resistance from the party.” MORE

The good ones have all retired or made lateral transfers to suburban Agencies. They are paying $50K bonuses and getting nothing but DEI hires and what nobody else with any common sense wants. It’s been all over local news and the trot out this newly hired Asian goofball who is obviously in it in order to step into some political position as the face of the campaign.

  4. And the state of Washington is about to jam a bunch of new taxes down our throats and up our asses! Among the taxes they are voting on is a tax on unrealized capital gains!

  5. OK, I need help from a kind soul here explaining this,”a diversified public safety response”, here is my guess;

White first responders, 10 minutes or less, and will apologize for being white.
Black responders will get there when they can, and won’t rob you once arrived.
Lantin-x responders may or may not show up at all, but will speak Spanish to you, so get over it.
Women responders will expect their car doors opened and bags carried once arrived, and will take a “mental health” day for any comments on their performance.

  6. I’ve changed my position on this and now support defunding the police, at least in big blue run cities.

The cops there suck at performance, they are over paid, lazy, and will only arrest innocent folks because they won’t fight back.

The reality is that we are all on our own and responsible for our own safety. Fire them all, give the money back to the taxpayers, and allow the individual victim to “take care of business”.

The only reason they haven’t tried this in Cali already is because Newsom is trying to position himself for a presidential run. Can you deduct unrealized losses as well? This is what happens when you run out of other peoples money.

  8. “Can you deduct unrealized losses as well?“

That’s one of my questions. Another one is, how in the hell is this constitutional? Who gets to determine when there has been an unrealized gain? And how much?

It’s not constitutional. But they do it in Europe and every fucking Libtard will tell you the Europeons are much smarter than we are.
I’m sure you and Mrs. 6 are much like my wife and myself. we don’t like getting pushed out of our own state. But they’re leaving us little choice. We better split before the pass the exit tax.
