The feds are asking a Manhattan judge to delay the corruption trial against Sen. Bob Menendez and his wife for at least two months because of the spouse’s health.
Prosecutors wrote a letter to the judge overseeing the case Wednesday asking that the May 6 trial start be pushed back until July or August after Nadine Menendez’s lawyers filed papers about her serious health condition.
Nadine’s condition requires she undergo surgery within four to six weeks, her lawyers said, adding she wouldn’t be in “physical or psychological condition” in seeking an indefinite delay. more here
