Sen. John McCain in new book: ‘I don’t know how much longer I’ll be here’

You may want to lubricate your eyes, because you will be rolling them.  A lot.

WaTimes: An audio excerpt of Sen. John McCain’s new book released Thursday addresses his battle with cancer and message he’d like to leave behind.

“I don’t know how much longer I’ll be here,” Mr. McCain, Arizona Republican, says on the recording released to National Public Radio. “Maybe I’ll have another five years. Maybe with the advances in oncology, they’ll find new treatments for my cancer that will extend my life. Maybe I’ll be gone before you hear this. My predicament is, well, rather unpredictable.”

“The Restless Wave” also talks about politics, President Trump, and the general state of American public life. He also takes some accountability for former Gov. Sarah Palin’s mistakes on the campaign trail in 2008 after selecting her as his running mate.

“She stumbled in some interviews,” Mr. McCain says, “and had a few misjudgments in the glare of the ceaseless spotlight. Those missteps, too, are on me. She didn’t put herself on the ticket. I did.” MORE

  1. John. You should have known, Life is unpredictable and finite.

Here’s a bit of wisdom; Put others before self, Do good, be honest, be loyal, live with honor and stand up for your principles.

I know it’s late for you to put these qualities into action, but I thought you should know this.

  2. Tiresome … self-serving … trite …
Juan, Juan, Juan … “Depart, I say; and let us have done with you. In the name of God, go!”

  3. Pbnuc, Me Too (#☺). The moment I saw Sarah & learned she was a woman of strong Faith, I KNEW I wanted her as our president! Sadly, there was John, too.

  4. Sadly, the story of a navy man (sorry guys) who couldn’t “STAND FAST” and true.

Never forget him and his butt-hole buddy Teddy hangin’ out like they were somebody, you know?

  5. A legend in his own rotting fetid mind.
(no, not the cancer – he had serious mind-rot long before cancer showed up)

My guess is that he’s in for a real shock when those 134 Forrestal Sailors pass in review to point the way to his eternal abode.

May God have mercy on his soul.

  6. Slimeball to the end. Palin was 90% of the ticket.
That creep would have lost in a great landslide if she had not been on the ticket.
He and his corrupt handlers sabotaged her. Even after that, she was loyal to the rat. A misplaced and mistaken loyalty. Please brighten the world by LEAVING!

  7. You might wanna hang onto that security detail after you’re dead to keep people from pissing on your grave John.
The poster boy for what’s wrong with the GOP, he never missed a chance to cross the aisle.

  8. How brave to finally take SOME responsibility on his death bed.

Didn’t do anything his entire career, now wants to “leave something behind.” Yeah, unfortunately, you will leave your worthless corpse behind.

Everyone said I was a FOOL not to vote for McCain. “You don’t want Obama to win do you!?” –Pffft! He’s worse than Obama.

Dumbarters laugh when a draft dodging fat ass makes fun of men who served our country honorably. President Bone Spur said “John McCain is not a war hero.”
Spur also said ” sex in the 80’s was my own personal Viet Nam”
Now he wants to make fun of Kerry? What a doosh.

Gee Wally, I’m a Viet Nam vet and think less of Kerry and McCain than President Trump does, so go ahead, question my bonafides, “doosh”.

Well good for you. Opposing your opinion are a majority of military officers and veterans groups. Honor, truthfulness and integrity are all missing in Trumps dna. Even you will probably admit it a couple of years.

If you’re going out on a limb and declaring, with no factual evidence of your assertion, how about you back it up big boy.
How many VFW meetings have you been to?
You can piss on my foot, don’t try and tell me it’s raining.
You don’t know what you’re talking about, carry on lad.

  11. A McCain confidant says Trump won’t be invited to his funeral, Pence will be. Petty to the end.
Clouded with such hate he doesn’t get more people would be interested if Trump showed up.

  12. I wonder whether his brain cancer has been made up from the beginning. I know, I should be wearing a tinfoil hat but the SOB knew he wasn’t going to win a nomination battle let alone another term so what better way to back out of politics without having anything critical said about him and instead receiving lots of plaudit’s from your enemies. Now he gets to sit on the sidelines, take potshots at his enemies and nobody can shoot back because he’s “dying”. Wouldn’t be that tough to set up with his connections.

  13. I have no patience at all for the “woe is me, I have cancer” so you can’t criticize me. (or plug in any other type of malady there)
Whether his cancer is real or made-up, for God’s sake, McCain is pathetic in his last days. Why should anyone else respect him?
