Sen. Tina Smith (D-MN) will not seek reelection

Daily Caller

Democratic Minnesota Sen. Tina Smith said she will not seek reelection for a second term in a shock announcement Thursday.

Smith, who was elected to the Senate in 2018, is the second Democratic incumbent to announce their retirement since Republicans retook Senate control in January. Democratic Michigan Sen. Gary Peters, who was expected to face a tough reelection contest, announced his retirement on Jan. 28.

Smith alluded to senators staying well past their “retirement age” as partly contributing to her decision to not seek reelection. more

  1. Never heard of her. And that’s not just a snarky comment, I’ve literally never heard of her.

    Nit: She mentioned “retirement age” so I looked in the article for her age. It’s a pretty lazy reporter to write about someone retiring without saying how old she is. JFTR, she’s 66.

  2. She is just another MN DemTwat Trump hater, making noise to get attention;

    U.S. Senator Tina Smith, alongside 15 of her colleagues, sent a letter to Acting Secretary of the Department of Education Denise Carter, seeking answers after reports that Elon Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) has infiltrated the Department of Education (ED)

    She will promptly be replaced by another DFL libtard.

  3. For those not familiar with the meaning of Minnesota’s DFL it’s “Damned Freeloading Liberals”. However, “Freeloading” may be substituted as you see fit as long as it starts with an “F”.
