Patriot Retort:

Yesterday the Senate voted down calling new “witnesses” in the shampeachment trial of President Trump.  And as much as the ResistanceLOL may rage against Republicans, they have nobody to blame but their short-sighted Presidential candidate Elizabeth Warren.

Thanks, Short-Sighted Liz!

You see, there was a strong possibility that, along with Mitt Romney (D-UT) and Susan Collins (?-ME), Alaska Senator Lisa Murkowski would vote YES on witnesses – forcing a 50/50 tie and creating a miasma over whether or not Chief Justice Roberts would be allowed to cast a deciding vote.

And, boy, did the Democrats want that to happen.

But thanks to Short-Sighted Liz, it didn’t happen.  Lisa Murkowski voted NO.

You see, Liz Warren hoped to use the Senate trial as an opportunity to advance her presidential aspirations.  So she decided to submit a “question” to the attorneys that wasn’t a question at all.  Instead, it was a set-up designed to force Chief Justice Roberts to read aloud her snotty attack on the “legitimacy” of the Supreme Court. more

  1. Slight correction: In the event of a 50/50 tie the Republicans would still win. Roberts has no constitutional authority to vote or act as a tie breaker. His ruling to protect the blower of whistles is not constitutional either, He pulled that from his Jackass rectum.

  2. Exterpates has it right. But, knowing the Democrats as we do, it is not surprising they would try to change the rules on the fly. This hoax impeachment is illegitimate from top to bottom, starting with the rules changes for Eric Chiarmella and moving forward from there. That’s what Democrats do. Outlaws. This is what fries my dendrites — why in the hell the Republicans even entertained the so-called “articles of impeachment” in the first place. I would have pulled the blinds, locked the door and told everyone to keep quiet until Nadler and Schiff and their processional gave up and wandered away.
