Shots fired turns out to be balloons

Popping balloons prompted massive police response and university campus lockdown

The sound of popping balloons had dozens of police officers descending on Carleton University in Ottawa, Canada.
The popping sounds led to erroneous reports of a shooter on campus. A possible emergency situation was reported at around 6:30pm, with the campus placed on lockdown while campus security and Ottawa police investigated.

The false alarm was traced to the Tory building, near the centre of the campus, where students had reportedly popped about 80 balloons, sending some other students into a panic and triggering the emergency call.

  1. Friends, it was in Ottawa, which is Canada’s “Washington DC”/government town…it would follow they panicked as they’d never seen or heard a real gun in their lives…too scary! Must make sure no one but our bodyguards and police have them, the military only gets them when they are deployed…perhaps.

  2. Is this what they mean by ‘trigger warnings’?
    What a bunch of pansies.
Jumping to conclusions, knee jerks and running scared, all the exercise Progs get.
