Singapore Hangs a Woman For Trafficking 1 Ounce of Heroin

AP-

Singapore conducted its first execution of a woman in 19 years on Friday and its second hanging this week for drug trafficking despite calls for the city-state to cease capital punishment for drug-related crimes.

Activists said another execution is planned next week.

Saridewi Djamani, 45, was sentenced to death in 2018 for trafficking about 31 grams (1 ounce) of diamorphine, or pure heroin, the Central Narcotics Bureau said. It said the amount was “sufficient to feed the addiction of about 370 abusers for a week.”

  1. I WAS OPS BOSS ON THE USS NEW JERSEY ON CHRISTMAS EVE/CHRISTMAS, ANCHORED OFF SINGAPORE, COMMAND DUTY OFFICER, AND WE HAD AN ASSHOLE SAILOR THROW A PROSTITUTE OUT OF A HIGH RISE HOTEL

WE LEFT SINGAPORE FOR THE PERSIAN GULF, AND I NEVER HEARD ANOTHER WORD ABOUT THAT DUDE

BEEN THERE SEVERAL TIMES, YOU DON’T WANT TO BE CAUGHT LITTERING, ETC…UNLESS YOU ENJOY CANING

    BTW, CLEANEST CITY EVER

  2. Benito, I commissioned oil & gas equipment in Singapore in the late 90’s.
It has a well deserved reputation but the party scene was actually off the charts.
The chicks in Singapore get pretty drunk pretty easily.
I had a really nice hotel room and the exchange rate was good from what I remember.

I had some crazy times there but fortunately was never arrested.
Of course if they had ever caned me I likely deserved it…

  3. Loco,
Bull Shit. Taiwan is a retail outlet for China. Castings, forging, rec bar, anything aluminum, anything electronic, and anything PVD. Especially Solar Panels. There’s a reason Taiwan’s not a DFAR or ITAR partner. Right?

  4. Sure, they steal IP just like ALL ASIAN countries.
When I worked in Taiwan and needed a part I just gave a rep the broken part and the next morning I had an exact replica.
This was before 3-D printing, which now is such a game-changer, along with software, AI, etc…
    Brave new world.

As for the people of Taiwan, you call them China they spit in your face!
    Good luck with that.

  5. I remember flying 15 hours to get to Taiwan, checking into the hotel tired as hell.
Woke up at 11 PM at night their time and was hungry, went outside and the place was hopping, middle of the week.
Food carts with any kind of wildlife you would never want to eat, some you would.
If it moved, they cooked it & ate it.
It really is a wonder that any sea creatures survive in those Asian oceans, including Australia.
Those motherfuckers eat EVERYTHING that exists in the ocean.

Mopeds as far as the eye could see, likely a 4:1 ratio to humans.
Entire generations riding on those damned things.
    I felt like a giant.
    They liked Americans.
In Greece they hated us so that’s a plus for them.

To call them Chinese is bullshit.
That said, I would not go to war for them.
    Or anybody at this point.
    Fuck Ukraine!

I’l never go there so I don’t give a fxck. But I see what their bull shit imports do to our economy. And believe me they love spitting on us.
Next US economy killer country, India. The Biden Admin has decided to rely heavily on India for supplying military replacement parts to our military. Mind you every damn weapons system India has they purchased from Russia. I got briefed on this last Friday from a Gov agency. A warning. Find other work.

I live this. Believe me, you’re the one with the epiphany. And this would not have happened under Trump. In the long run this won’t effect us. We specialize in geometrically complex parts. But it will hurt the overall economy immensely. Which is what they are after. Let’s home someone on our side gets wind of it and stops it. They still have “buy American” mandate in place. Not that that means shit to them.

  8. It really is ratcheting up.

In other news Twitter is going bonkers right now.
All accounts are accessible without a login but they are all old posts.
Elon must be rearranging the deck chairs…

Twitter is still so powerful, once we get into the general election Trump needs to use Twitter or it will be a big mistake.

  9. I don’t have a problem with hanging drug dealers.

The problem comes in with how we determine who’s a drug dealer.

If we had such a law, it would not be difficult for a fibbie to “find” some in President Trump’s suit pocket and HE won’t get the Democrat Exemption, it you know what I mean…

  10. Their rules, either play by them or die. I was hoping this would happen to that lesbian Griner when she took drugs into Russia. She3 got a taste of women’s prison. 🙂

  11. The best steak that I ever ate in my life I had was while we were in Singapore in 1974 for a few days on shore leave. I believe that it was from a water buffalo, and it was fantastic. In the Philippines one time in 1974 there was a public execution of a criminal caught with some drugs in Subic City just N. of Olongapo City. The Filipino Army took this poor bastard out into the public square, blind folded him, mad him kneel and blew his brains out at close range with a 45-caliber pistol. They didn’t fuck around with drug offenses in the PI either, if you were caught with illegal drugs you were a dead man.

  12. Clear and straightforward laws uniformly and rapidly enforced are a benefit to society, but not so much to lawyers. What percentage of legislators are lawyers?
