  1. So precious! 😍😍😍 Same here re: thank God for automatic changes on phones, etc. Just woke up (it’s middle of the night here) and my bedside clock said 02:57. A few minutes later I happened to glance at phone that said 04:02. At first I was like whaaaaaa- then remembered.

So glad I only have three-day week this week, this change always messes with me!

  2. Welcome back Claudia. Even though my cell phone and computer clocks automatically “sprung forward”, my internal one did not. I have until Monday morning to get it right.

  3. …good morning, Claudia, an unexpected blessing! Stogy ol’ Fur wouldn’t update us, and pessimist me feared there was an issue, but that was silly because we’d prayed, so I should have known God had you all along, and so he did. Thank the Lord you’re all right,in good spirits and on the mend, and we’ll keep you covered in prayers until your healing is DONE.

    Even if you ARE late.

….I manage the clocks at a food plant, which the Federal government say are REAL important, so I’ve been setting clocks, dozens of them, since 0500 (EDT), and I still have a few in unused today stuff to go, so I didn’t get to sleep in, but I hope everyone ELSE enjoyed it…

Praying on your healing, Claudia, and Eugenias and PJs too. My, the list is long, but the Lord is big enough for ALL of it…

  4. ..but about the pix, though, to be topical for once…

….Mini and Skippy are a team, with Mini as the leader of the pack. We’ll get back to that.

You’d never know it to look at her looking so peaceful, but she’s even the boss of my nephew’s Dexter, a Pittie that is one solid muscle, and ruled Archie, who was a Boxer mix who stood 3′ high at the shoulders and weighted 100 lbs, but was the friendliest horse of a dog you’d ever meet. Sadly, Archie lost his battle with cancer in his fifth year, and is cavorting happily on Heaven’s fields until his playmates join him.

Mini is a rescue, at a guess by the vet to be somewhere between 13 and 16 years old, and is blind, is being medicated for heart problems, and has the back and hip problems common to the breed that are also medically controlled, but still wants to be in the middle of EVERYTHING, even if she can’t see it. She goes around like a little bumper car until she finds Mama’s feet, and after running Skippy off she will indeed claim any cornbread or McDonald’s french fries as her OWN. We’ve had to put up baby gates on the stairs after a couple of scary falls, but the Lord kept her from getting hurt and we all learned a lesson. We don’t know how long we have with her, probably not long, but the vet says her pain and problems are well-managed and there’s no reason for him to recommed her time with us should be shortened. Nevertheless, I commissioned the artful BFH to paint her before she lost her sight and he did an AMAZING job of capturing her soulful look, and I’m glad we’ll have that forever, in addition to the memories of sweetness and love, until the Lord calls her over for us when we, too, cross over when all our time here ends. You can see the painting if you like, link below, it’s wonderful!

…getting back to Skippy, he joined us just over 3 years ago as a pup, and in everything besides food he is COMPLETELY at Mini’s service. If we can’t find Mini, we need only ask him, “Where Mini?”, and he’ll go right to her wherever she is! He actually helps her around, (mostly) shuts up if she barks at him when HE’s barking, and will even come get us if he thinks she needs us. He’s not the brightest guy ever, but he is very loyal, and also announces if anyone’s trying to get into the house LOUDLY, which is a good thing to have in a dog that isn’t guard dog stature, but who’s humans are ALWAYS armed…

Skippy is more likely to be looking for something to get into than resting, though, so he doesn’t look like this ALL the time. He always seems able to find the thistles outside, too, so it’s a LOT of seed picking when he does, but he doesn’t have an ounce of meanness in him, but he CAN be pretty passive/aggressive with the licking, and he sometimes looks like he’s considering writing you a sternly-worded letter, if only he could read and write…

…BFH did a portrait for me of him, too, but it isn’t posted so I can’t link. It’s great too, though, I can’t say enough about that man’s talent with the paintings. Our animal kids aren’t forever, so you might want him to immortalize them while you can…

…I know, too much, already, though there’s more to say. God’s blessed us with quite the menagerie over the years, and that even our animals were what we needed when we needed them shows His love too, and I can never thank him enough. Sorry I’m so long, but never sorry to praise Him for all He does for us, animals included.

Thank-You for posting my family, Claudia. Again, glad to see you again, and praying on your FULL recovery.

    God Bless,

  5. Thanks for the prayers and well wishes! They certainly came in handy.

I did get sent home the same day! But they loaded me up with enough drugs to get me arrested had I not just had hip surgery. That laid me low for a few days, as I followed the drug schedule for the first few dsys.

I finally got tired of feeling loopy and unsteady on my crutches. Started cutting down on the Oxy and took the last 1/2 dose on Friday. Feel so much better right now.

Just a thought … I don’t know if I’m weird or not, but I can’t imagine how anyone could think that taking that stuff would be fun. I don’t like to be in pain, but I would rather tolerate pain than not be in control of my mind. Can’t imagine the pain that people suffer from who get hooked. Poor souls.

Ok, I do need to update you on something I said I’d do to make the PT, OT and surgeon send me home the same day. I was going to skip down the hall going to PT and show them how I could take care of myself. I did try the skipping part (and my sister did video it) but it just looked like I was limping! The nurses and I laughed, so I just walked and passed the PT and OT portions. So, no I’m not going to post the video!

Thanks again for your love. I love you, too!

  6. So glad you are back home, Claudia. All your critter lovers are hoping you are feeling like a young kitten or pup before next Sunday. If you do sleep in, don’t do lt on the steps!

Still yawning now over that hour…
