Snopes: A tweet shared in the aftermath of a deadly school shooting in Uvalde, Texas read, “Guns are banned at the NRA convention in Texas this weekend when Trump speaks. Let that sink in.”
The tweet was fact-checked and the info was deemed FACTUAL!
Now let THAT sink in.
The idea here is that we are supposed to be outraged by the HYPOCRISY of the situation. Trump, who is pro 2A, will be protected by the secret service and no weapons will be allowed at the venue, meanwhile “kids are slaughtered in the classrooms.!!!!!”
This makes the left so mad they feel like shooting Trump.
And that’s why he is protected.
The existence of 2A doesn’t mean an environment during special circumstances cannot be controlled. Guns will be in that room, I can assure you. Trump’s security team will be packing. The people coming into the room will be checked and guns will not be allowed in the room with him. That is not a violation of 2A.
It also doesn’t assure that some nutball won’t storm into the room and start firing. That could happen. But they’ll be armed people in the room hired to protect the former President.
This is what we want for our children. We want armed people on school premises that are trained and can protect the children.
There is no hypocrisy here. Just as it’s no hypocrisy for the secret service to protect the children of the President while they are in school.
Or is there?
Snopes should start a movement to ban firearms at firing ranges.
I suggest to the Snopes people to start their movement with an armed attack on a police or military firing range. As a spectacle, that would beat anything MLB or the NFL could pull off.
Any honest gun owner, attending a Trump Rally, would just understand the request.
My bro-in-law has two tickets for the 27th and asked if I wanted to go. I’ll be there. Don’t know if the tickets he has will get us into the Trump speech (he is connected because he is in charge of one of the strategic petroleum reserves), but if so, I’ll gladly leave my heat in the truck. Otherwise. I’ll be packing heat into the exhibit hall along with everyone else. I went to the NRA convention in Houston years ago and it was awesome. Got to meet R. Lee Ermey.

If anyone needs extra, unregistered guns, there will be a crapload in the parking lot of that convention. I just read that in the comments above.
