Beautiful story. So glad things worked out for this soldier and his best friend. Our family also has a pup that nobody wanted, and man is he ever a smart, loving, wonderful dog.
Funny how dogs seem to pick a person out instead of the other way around. They know how to win you over, and thats lucky for us!

Of all the things he went through in Afghanistan, few pissed him off more than coming back from patrol to find out someone had ordered all the dogs at the COP killed. It was a shared billet, half US, half inbred Afghans.
Dogs are Guardian Angels. Truly sent by God to fill our needs and care for us. And yes, they pick you.
