You can go to the local American Legion or VFW to package up Christmas goodies for our troops abroad, and guess what? They do NOT care if it gets there by Christmas…or even the New Year.
OR a visit to the local VFW for a pizza party. My youngest trooper just handed me a Christmas card from two years ago from a the ultimate veteran who passed two months ago that organized many pizza parties at the VFW in Montrose, NY. He was a radio man in the Tropic Lighting action in Viet Nam.
Thank you ‘Big’ Bob for helping me to understand.
And to my dad in WWII and my brother, a refueler in Viet Nam, away from their families, their mothers and fathers at the time.
