I’d a settled happily with I’m a Thousand Miles From No Where. I always was of the opinion this guy never got the recognition he deserved. A great talent

BTW, Dwight was great in the movie Crank with Jason Statham.
Yes it’s a crazy flick but damn good escapism…

If you haven’t heard it, here it is. Nothing like watching the sun go down with a sweating glass of ice and Jack and listening to this.
I always enjoyed listening to the Bakersfield sound of country music like Buck Owens, Dwight Yoakum, Merle Haggard more than most of the cowpie music coming out of Nashville in the 60’s and 70’s. To me it was more authentic than the Nashville sound which was more top 40 commercial drivel than real country music.

Been a fan of Buck, Merle and Merle for 70 years for those in the East, or <60, that is THE BAKERSFIELD SOUND! What Geofff talks about above.
I totally agree with Geoff.
Watched Buckaros on tv 68 years ago. black white. Dad had to tell me "That boy's guitar is RED, WHITE + BLUE"!
So my fav is "Streets of Bakersfield". Dwight's first
Gold Record.
he did IMHIO an amazing eulogy at Buck's funeral. If youre not religious you may hate it!
