Who have you been confused by??
On The Dark Side does sound like Springsteen but I knew it was part of Eddie & The Cruisers flick…
As for The Who & Elvis, not even that close.
People also confuse Vehicle/Ides of March for Chicago. Guess it’s because of the horns.
Not Michael Jackson- https://youtu.be/WBuszEbobq0?si=hBRbOYPCVzKwmmvS
The Shart Song by Petey B.
Wow, flash back…have not heard these in years, the hands on clock are moving along. Thanks
I’ve often been confused by Hamilton Joe, Franken-Reynolds songs.
I love this thread.
Correction: I meant Hamilton, Joe Franken, Reynolds.
%#*^iit. I’m back. It’s Hamilton, Joe, Frank, and Reynolds.
“Baby baby fallin’ in love”…I always thought was Elvis. It’s not.
All of them!
Dammit. %^*ck. It’s Hamilton, Joe, Frank, Ann, Reynolds.
The 70s were awesome.
Fontella Bass! I knew it!
Seriously, Horse with no Name….Neil Young?
i thought Spiral Staircase I Love You More Today Than Yesterday was Stevie Wonder. But I was very young then.
One thing for certain regarding The Who… I won’t get fooled again…
The Ides of March ‘Vehicle’ was mistaken for Van Morrison????
…. really?
back in the day I confused ‘Suspicion’ by Terry Stafford for Presley
& the Beatles gave ‘Come & Get It’ to Badfinger, which was penned by Paul McCartney & ‘Day By Day’ was produced by George Harrison … which is probably why people mistook them for the Beatles
Lies by the Knickerbockers…not the Beatles.
my comment is ‘awaiting moderation’?
how should I moderate it?
… suggestions are welcome … lol
Voices by Cheap Trick….not ELO.

Rock and Roll Woman, not CSNY.
Green Manalishi, not some homosexual hair band, but Peter Green
Conway Twitty sounds like Elvis on some songs. Time Won’t Let Me by The Outsiders sounded like The Zombies.
Once confused hyenas fighting for Yoko Ono
Ernest wins this thread!!!!
i’d like my remaining days to be free of anything from barry man-love, bellamy bros., cher, cowsills, dooby/dubious bros., stealer’s wheel…and many more
Always assumed “Everlasting Love” by Carl Carlson was Stevie Wonder.
Was never confused by any of these but, when I saw “Not the Beatles—> +++++”, I KNEW it would be Badfinger. They were a Paul McCartney project and are FAMOUSLY mistaken for the “Fab Four”, in part, because of Paul’s production.
thank you Mr. Hat, that was a fun walk down memory lane
I can’t tell you why I didn’t know who did “I Can’t Tell You Why”, but I didn’t know it was The Eagles until last year.
Anonymous: Considering that half of CSNY was in Buffalo Springfield it shouldn’t be a surprise that R&R Woman sounds like CSNY.
My input on this list: When I first heard https://youtu.be/OZuW6BH_Vak?si=6HW2FCAi3jMOQxbF I thought it was whatever iteration of Jefferson Airplane/Starship they were in at the time. When I first heard https://youtu.be/OqeKV2UYq1Q?si=RmnNglXUeIvjqgv4 I thought it was Heart.
From the “really obscure/betcha never heard this one” column, I thought https://youtu.be/sn1aHqRBsio?si=nu8Lyp0d0Em5DmAC was The Turtles., but I claim the same excuse as on whose shoulders used.
… and the moderation is because you have a ton of links.
Tighter, Tighter – by Alive & Kicking, not Tommy James (who, by the way, did a lousy stage show outside Chicago this year)
Western Union,by The Five Americans. Had no doubt it was the Monkees.
“Stuck in the Middle With You”, Stealers Wheel, for years I thought it was the Beatles.
I wunc confuted the Barney song with …. uhh …… the Barney song ………..
Not the Talking Heads but Roxy Music “Love is the Drug”
Jan & Dean Beach boys
