  1. The Ides of March ‘Vehicle’ was mistaken for Van Morrison????

    …. really?

back in the day I confused ‘Suspicion’ by Terry Stafford for Presley

& the Beatles gave ‘Come & Get It’ to Badfinger, which was penned by Paul McCartney & ‘Day By Day’ was produced by George Harrison … which is probably why people mistook them for the Beatles

  2. Was never confused by any of these but, when I saw “Not the Beatles—> +++++”, I KNEW it would be Badfinger. They were a Paul McCartney project and are FAMOUSLY mistaken for the “Fab Four”, in part, because of Paul’s production.

  3. Anonymous: Considering that half of CSNY was in Buffalo Springfield it shouldn’t be a surprise that R&R Woman sounds like CSNY.

My input on this list: When I first heard https://youtu.be/OZuW6BH_Vak?si=6HW2FCAi3jMOQxbF I thought it was whatever iteration of Jefferson Airplane/Starship they were in at the time. When I first heard https://youtu.be/OqeKV2UYq1Q?si=RmnNglXUeIvjqgv4 I thought it was Heart.

From the “really obscure/betcha never heard this one” column, I thought https://youtu.be/sn1aHqRBsio?si=nu8Lyp0d0Em5DmAC was The Turtles., but I claim the same excuse as on whose shoulders used.
