South African Bad Ass Foils Ambush Of Cash-in-Transit Vehicle

A 39-year-old SAPS sergeant [South African Police Service] and a security guard were shot and wounded after a group of armed men attacked a cash-in-transit (CIT) vehicle in Macassar on the Cape Flats on Thursday, 29 April.

“Three suspects were arrested and five firearms, including three AK-47 rifles as well as five vehicles, were seized in Stellenbosch. Two of the vehicles were hijacked by the suspects as they fled the Macassar scene,” according to a SAPS statement after the incident. More

The story is interesting on it’s own, but it’s the video of the driver and his passenger that’s really getting attention. Watch

  1. Maybe it’s just me, but wouldn’t the safest way to transport cash be to put it in a vehicle that doesn’t scream, “Look at me!… I’ve full of cash!”.

Armored transport should be average looking cars or SUVs with special compartments to hide the cash, which is transported anonymously to wherever it’s going without the bad guys having a inkling of what’s going on, unless they’re tipped off.

  2. Driver was Fucking AWESOME!

Partner didn’t do a FKN thing.

“here hold the rifle, put the little one away, pay day is thursday.”
I’m surprised he didn’t accidentally shoot his own foot off.

  3. “The problem is that the police are no longer receiving the specialist training needed to deal with these heavily armed criminals, Burger added.”

    I wonder why that is?

Thank you Nelson Mandela. Your ANC has turned a beautiful country known as the breadbasket and crown jewel of Africa into a leftist hellhole.

I weep for this wonderful country I so love.

Noooo, the co-driver did exactly as he was trained and told.
    Stay calm
Prep all weapons, pistol & rifle. Hold until situations deems otherwise.
    Call HQ.
    Support the driver.

I’m impressed by the driver. Well trained, knows his abilities and limits. Apparently, not his first time “around the block”. His adrenaline and heart rate may be up (whose wouldn’t?), but he doesn’t let it affect what he knows he needs to do (get out of the Kill Zone, continue $$ delivery/pickup, call for support/interdiction/backup)
