According to MLive, the spirit bear has been living in the wilderness populating the state’s western Upper Peninsula. Per the outlet, the sighting marks only the fifth time a spirit bear has been confirmed outside of British Columbia. This officially makes it a one-in-a-million bear. Additionally, the sighting also signifies the first time in recorded Michigan history that a spirit bear has been confirmed. More
It’s not a “spirit bear”, it’s a friggin’ albino bear. It happens from time to time. Sheesh. What century is this?
Honkey bears are RAYCISS!
That Black bear is appropriating my whiteness
Honkey bears are too polite…
“Excuse me, Madam, but I smelled your dustbin from about 7500 Roman feet… May I, Madam, check out your smelly dustbin?”
The spirit bear was early for the Charmin auditions…..He was a pants down favorite to win….
That’s some remote country on the Upper Peninsula. I don’t think it’s an albino, it has a black snout.
Albino deer are protected, this bear should also be protected, if nothing else because of the novelty’s sake.
We must kill it to protect it.
Read the article, the bear has patches of blond on its front. It’s a double recessive mutation, not albino.
The wildlife official interviewed for the article seemed keen to get a blood sample from a harvested bear this season. Spirit bear is not protected.
Is it drunk all the time? What kind of spirits does it like? I know when I’ve had too many spirits, it’s a bear the next day.
That would make a nice rug…
Not even that unusual.
“Black bears come in more colors than any other North American mammal. They can be black, brown, cinnamon, blond, blue-gray, or white.”
Why are they giving this bear “white privilege”??? Black Bears Matter!
I don’t worship the fake gods the neolithic aborigines of North America worshipped. After all, they exterminated the original aborigines who lived here before, the Anasazi.
Was sitting on a neighbours deck one day. (northern Ontario).
There was about ten people and a couple of dogs.
Bear,a big one, shows up at the end of the driveway saunters down the driveway about 10 yards stops, tilts it’s head and stares at us for about 30 seconds, the dogs didn’t even notice.
He turned and walked off into the bush.
I think he just wanted to party.
