Spring Weather Making The Great Lakes, “Great Again” – IOTW Report

Spring Weather Making The Great Lakes, “Great Again”

How refreshing.  A story about water levels on the Great Lakes that excludes the words “Global Warming” or “Climate Change.” All five of the Great Lakes are at highs levels with Superior and Erie set to hit new records. It was a snowy and stormy April that has driven the lakes up 6 inches in a month to nearly a foot over their averages for this time of year. More

And for those interested, it snowed here in NW Wisconsin overnight (Duluth, MN reported in with over 9.8 inches) and we have a wind chill of 22 degrees this morning. -Dr. Tar

  1. My mom prides herself on being “minnesota tough”. She likes winter. They had 10” of snow last night. I called her this morning and she said “the trees were beautiful last night, just heavy with fresh snow”. She’s nuts I tell ya!

Are you sure you have shore warnings. Certainly curtains gathering sea shells down by the sea shore or selling them near the sea shore. Dinah Shore used to sell sea shells down by the sea shore but she has passed to the great shore of sea shells….

hmmmmm….I can see places where there are mitts in the GL..Saginaw, UP, Green Bay, or in Ontario, near Parry Sound.

Since you said “green”, I take that as a hint and vote for Green Bay, WI.

  4. Tim Buktu, the whole lower peninsula of Michigan is called the mitten because it is shaped like a hand in a mitten. I live on the west side of Michigan, just a short hour drive from Lake Michigan.

I was joking about the green splotch because most of Michigan is green in that picture.

  6. What Mark Twain said, The coldest winter I ever spent was a summer in Duluth.
I lived on the WI side of the bay for 32 years.
Been near MKE for 13 years now, just starting to thaw out.
