8. My dad, in his 90s, was so happy three years ago when I got him a MAGA hat. He wore it a lot through mid-2016. Now he’s (wisely) afraid to wear it. This bothers me a lot.

10. If you think about it, our country is not free. Consider that you are compelled to pay property tax. That means that you are just leasing the land and building from the government and if you don’t pay, they take it away. Then there is death tax. You pay your taxes and when you die, they take your money and possessions and your wife and family must must pay to get it back. The government then controls your healthcare, your access to testing and procedures is limited by government rules. Or the fact you have to see a doctor to get medications of the doctor approved or you are not violating a rule. The examples are numerous and most don’t realize how little freedom we have. All this started with Lincoln, that is what the Civil War was about, not slaves.

12. If anybody’s interested in this first-time gun owner’s opinion, the Ruger EC9s disappears after a couple weeks in your pocket. You won’t notice that you’re carrying it but you’ll sure miss it if you’re not. Once I got the right grips on it, it feels like it was custom made for my hand.
