1940s garbage truck, and a 2019 manure spreader – I operated those things a few times in my teens, not a pleasant job on a hot windless day on the farm. However, the “new-journalists” seem to like it, a lot.

A friend of mine, a farmers kid told me that a manure spreader was called a shit wagon when I was in 3rd or 4th grade back in the early 60’s. I hadn’t ever heard the term used before then and honest to God the kid’s last name was Fink.
