Still recovering from the effects of the first battering, the southeastern African nation of Mozambique is bracing for a rare second hit by long-living Tropical Cyclone Freddy late on Friday night, a regional weather center said Tuesday.
The United Nations’ monitoring station on the Indian Ocean island of Reunion warned that Freddy will “gradually intensify to the stage of a tropical cyclone or even an intense tropical cyclone” over the Mozambique Channel before making landfall overnight on Friday into Saturday. Continues
Poor bastards get no respect. Even their named storms get wimpy names like “Freddy”.
My concern is if it will hit Madagascar. If it does you’d better stock up on cinnamon.
Unkle Al , at least their president’s less of an embarrassment than the current occupant of the White House. Only 2 million in bribes, what a piker !
In case there’s anyone named Freddy here that I’ve offended, I didn’t mean to. Freddy is just fine as a people name. Freddy is only wimpy as a storm name.
@Uncle Al: “Freddy is only wimpy as a storm name.”

Wait until black folks names are used: Dikembe, Kentay, Kacondra, or Laqueta
They’ll be offended when that happens.
Uncle Al, I’ve got a dyslexic freind named Derf.
I’ll try to make sure he doesn’t see this. He’s crazy.
@Goldenfox
Don’t forget about that famous baby name F-e-m-a-l-e…
The hospital named her baby Feemalay! They even gave her a bracelet…
Weird. Freddy is supposed to go ashore, dump a trillion gallons of water in Africa, then go back offshore to dump rain on Madagascar, then go back West again and bounce around in the channel for a week. Uncle Al is right, WTF kind of wimpy storm name is that?
