Singer Oliver Anthony emerged out of nowhere this week to score a major social media hit with his folk song “Rich Men North of Richmond” — a rust-belt ode aimed squarely at uniparty D.C. elites. Now the singer has solidified his newfound celebrity status by reaching the No. 1 spot on iTunes.
In fact, another Oliver Anthony single “Ain’t Gotta Dollar” — which he released last year — has climbed to the No. 2 spot, giving the previously little-known Virginia singer the top two selling songs on the platform. More
Sure as Hell struck a nerve with me! Biden and Bush are very rich men “who serve the same master”! Their master hates working Americans!
He is right! And I am as sad as he!
UNIPARTYH HAS DONE MUCH HARM TO WORKING AMERIANS. RICH MEN LIKE BIDEN AND BUSH HAV eNOT BEEN HURT.
he does not say UNIPARTY; but if you have follower the last 63 years UNIPARTY you know who he blames for the degradation of American workers! I DO!
Didn’t strike a nerve with me…my nerves are already going in that direction! I just wish is would sink into the thick skulls of the brain dead fukin’ liberals!
Too bad the government doesn’t worry about Americans over taxation. They have all the money they can dream up in new taxes, no problem just reach into Americans wallet via more taxes.
So happy for him.
For us too, to be able to hear this song and others.
Now Oliver is going to need security to protect him from or government. His popularity will put him in jeopardy.
Our government, damn I need to learn to proofread.
CORRECT, JOE6…IT’S ALL ABOUT SQUELCHING CONSERVATIVES, LETTING THE LEFT RUN WILD WITH THEIR PERVERSITY
Andrew Breitbart’s pithy statement, “Politics is downstream from culture”, is doubly apt, here, regarding what current culture is making of a song about politics. Debra Tyler, writing for American Thinker, points out that culture is downstream from religion.
April 23rd, 2022 “Politics Is Downstream from Culture…but What Is Culture Downstream From?”
In her essay Tyler points out that Andrew perhaps didn’t make that three-point connection because he was a child and young adult when the Left obliterated the common basis religion provides a society in sorting out its values.
As the Left continued to grow and gain adherents (unthinking people who didn’t question when the Left changed ‘liberal’ into ‘progressive’), it untethered those from our common worldview, eventually making them hostile toward it. It’s hard to imagine the DNC, for example, getting away with striking God from their convention in 1965. It would have alienated 99.99% of the American population, including agnostics.
It may be too little, too late, but it’s a sign of the times when an unknown music artist who believes in God goes to the top of a very popular platform overnight, and the most popular brand of beer in America is on the ropes for mocking that same God.
We’ll see. Watch and pray.
The left was in general anti-establishment as well, right up until Biden solidified the establishment as an ally of the left and more importantly an enemy of conservatives.
Happy for him!
Let’s HELP it Catch Fire & Tell people about it.
It is Important.
“Rich Men North of Richmond” has 7.9M views in 5 days on radiowv channel. I hope he gets his cut.
May The Good Lord STRIP the wealth from the Uniparty!
I can remember when the left was against endless wars … yeah, I’m old
now, they’ve become the biggest sell-outs in history.
… this works today more than ever …
“Some folks are born made to wave the flag
Ooh, they’re red, white and blue
And when the band plays “Hail to the Chief”
Ooh, they point the cannon at you, Lord
It ain’t me, it ain’t me
I ain’t no senator’s son, son
It ain’t me, it ain’t me
I ain’t no fortunate one, no
Some folks are born silver spoon in hand
Lord, don’t they help themselves, no
But when the taxman come’ to the door
Lord, the house lookin’ like a rummage sale, yeah
It ain’t me, it ain’t me
I ain’t no millionaire’s son, no no
It ain’t me, it ain’t me
I ain’t no fortunate one, no
Yeah, some folks inherit star-spangled eyes
Ooh, they send you down to war, Lord
And when you ask ’em, “How much should we give?”
Ooh, they only answer, “More, more, more, more!”
It ain’t me, it ain’t me
I ain’t no military son, son, Lord
It ain’t me, it ain’t me
I ain’t no fortunate one, one
It ain’t me, it ain’t me
I ain’t no fortunate one, no no no
It ain’t me, it ain’t me
I ain’t no fortunate son, no no no
It ain’t me…”

CCR, the band that got my dad and I through my terrible teens. When shit got bad between him and I, out would come his CCR records and peace could be achieved for a bit. Nice choice ΜΟΛΩΝ ΛΑΒΕ 👍
He seems like a good guy. His explanation of finding God is from his heart

The problem the left has is they don’t have the hearts and minds most of the nation. Even the left knows something is very wrong outside of the media and academia.
And that is why these things take off.
Case in point, Trump rally versus Biden rally in his basement where it wouldn’t even be crowded.

I’m old too. In fact there’s me and dirt. I also thought of Fortunate Son the first time I heard this. Great post brother. I try not to over complicate shit. However it came about, Oliver Anthony is a Patriot. And that’s a damn great song, and he’s a damn good artist.
