  1. When I was diagnosed with cancer I went strict keto in order to cut out all the fuel cancer needs to flourish, and that included any fats except butter, olive and coconut oils, tallow, and lard. As far as I know I am cancer free today. All praise and thanksgiving to Jesus Christ, our healer. However, it is too easy to let all that junk sneak back into the house and into my mouth, so I am once again pursuing a clean, whole diet sans bad oils and most carbs. As I am a carb addict, please pray for me.

  2. Right after Hurricane Milton, I needed to get some chainsaw bar oil, but every store was sold out of almost everything chainsaw related. While at Walmart, I searched online for a suitable substitute. Surprise, surprise, the #1 recommendation was for canola oil. After all, it was originally developed as a lubricant for machinery…

  3. AA, I’m praying for all of us. And, I’m happy you’re doing so well. Like many of us at iOTW we are getting older, not younger. Both my wife and I have had health issues, as many of us have. I’m happy to say we have had some success stories. Prayer is so helpful, it may not be curative, but it provides peace of mind.

  5. I have a kid who has taught me so much and I’ve been on olive oil about 15 yrs. now. Never too late to catch up! My pie crusts are made with that expensive grass fed Irish butter, but I don’t made pies that often anymore. We were left a pie after Christmas dinner we hosted and i tasted the top crust then just ate the filling later on. My late mom used Crisco but we didn’t know then.

  6. I see a lot of drama and hyperbole in the article, which is a “journalist” creating a story from a study written for medical professionals. Cooking with the usual oils at high temps or deep frying might create some of these bad compounds. No quantifying of risks in the article.

    Bottom line in the words of Douglas Adam’s, DON’T PANIC. (in large friendly letters) And don’t rush to make decisions on your health from poorly written garbage off the internet. Look for credible information from reputable sources, what happens next will shock you!

    These seed oils are poison. They’re everywhere, in everything. If you eat ANYTHING from the middle aisles of grocery stores, you’re putting this shit into your body. If you cook with them, count on a lifetime of ill health and a bad death.

    I dare you to watch what it takes to manufacture canola oil and then use it. Denying this shit is deadly is exactly analogous to vax proponents telling you the jab saved millions.

  8. I’ve only used olive & avocado oil for years now.
    I remember when canola came out in stores. Julia Child still had a show and she said she tried it and didn’t like it at all.
    That’s one I never used. Made from rapeseed. A weed found largely in Canada.
    Soy is bad for your kidneys and joints. Now that’s in almost everything!
    So many companies just find the cheapest stuff to use with no thought to customers’ health.
    We cut down sugar and bread after hubs’ blood work came back pre diabetes. He lost 20 lbs and is not pre diabetic.
    Big pharma doesn’t want people eating healthy.
    No money in it for them.

  9. Dramaticly changed my diet this year. HBA1c is now normal. Eating whole food low carb. Got rid of seed oils. I used to be lactose intolerant and was surprised to discover I can eat dairy now with no issues. My guess is the inflammation was the cause.

    Also, don’t forget the omega 3s. Add sardines to your diet.

    I did not have sexual relations with that bottle of seed oil.
    No new “Seed Oils”.

    Why would anybody believe anything the “news” puts out there? They’re being played by “sources” or “science”, and if you believe anything they say, you are likely getting played as well.
