Supreme Court Clears Way for Menendez Bribery Trial

NLPC.org: The Supreme Court has refused to dismiss criminal charges against Senator Robert Menendez (D-NJ) who sought to have them thrown out on Constitutional grounds. Menendez was indicted, in part, on the basis of information uncovered by the National Legal and Policy Center.

Menendez seems to think that the Speech or Debate Clause is actually the Solicitation and Bribery Clause. His trial will start in the fall, two and half years after he was indicted. In this case, justice delayed really is justice denied. Although Menendez has stepped down as the ranking Democrat on the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, he arrogantly refuses to resign from the Senate. He is even raising money for a 2018 reelection campaign.

This is the third time courts have rejected Menendez attempts to have the indictments thrown out. On September 13, 2016, a Philadelphia-based appeals court refused, a ruling that Menendez appealed to the Supreme Court.

Menendez was indicted in April 2015 in New Jersey, along with Dr. Salomon Melgen, his largest campaign contributor. Melgen is a wealthy south Florida eye doctor who was born in the Dominican Republic and is a naturalized U.S. citizen.

Melgen currently is on trial in Miami on separate charges that he defrauded Medicare.  more here

  1. If the Dems were smart one of them would introduce a motion to have him thrown out of the Senate. The MSM may want to whistle past the graveyard on this (much like the Democrat Party) but when the criminal trial starts they won’t be able to bury the fact that a sitting US Democrat Senator is on trial. If they toss him now there won’t be as much press at trial and the Democrats will look like they’re looking to change.

  2. I believe Menendez was buddies w Jeff Epstein who had the Caribbean island or whatever hookup with the teenage girls. bill clinton was a participant several times I believe, and I think Menendez too went down there more than once, twice, thrice …. would be good to get a record of Menendez’ travel history down there and get some details of his activities and comings and goings. I mean, he isn’t a janitor at the power plant, he is a friggin US Senator. I am sure runs a phony sham marriage of convenience like most of them to give the appearance of being a good family guy (wink wink). Menendez is a democrat, right? Oh. Amazing. I probably am the only one who sees a pattern here. I am sure it’s just my racism, maybe I should watch Morning Joe today and learn what a racist sexist Trump voting degenerate I am.

  3. Au contraire scr_north. Might I remind you of Corrine Brown, D-FL, or Alcyee Hastings, D-Fl, or Charlie Rangel, D-NY, and the list goes on.
Sans links, you may not recognize these names or their crimes. Suffice it to say the media do not eat their own.

  4. Menedez strongly opposed the Iran deal. Curiously soon after his indictment and subsequent SC denial quickly progressed.

He deserves jail time for his crimes but the scarlet letter he’ll wear for opposing obama will forever stain his soul *snort*
