Jim Abrahams, one of the brilliant minds behind such smash hit comedies as Airplane! and Naked Gun has died. He was 80.

The original “Airplane” movies were a riot. Leslie Nielsen, Lloyd Bridges and Robert Stack were brilliant actors who were hilarious in those movies. It took a brilliant director to make those LOL moments happen.
It’s such a disappointment so many have tried to copy and failed so fundamentally. Yet these guys, together and along spun out hit after comedy hit. That alone is comment on what we’ve lost with this passing.
Prescient! Absolutely prescient. Predicting what the airline industry would become.
