After months without lockdowns, school closures and other mitigation measures widely imposed across the world, Sweden’s coronavirus cases and deaths have fallen to such minimal levels as to revive the debate over its so-called herd immunity strategy.
Some Swedish officials are far from declaring victory, warning there could be a second wave and that too many elderly died in the country during its comparatively lax pandemic restrictions.
The country’s population-adjusted death rate, meanwhile, is in the top 10 worldwide, but lower than the rates for Italy, Spain and even New York, where heavy lockdowns prevailed. more
well the good news from Sweden will not be broadcast on the nightly news in America you can bet your bottom dollar.

Pfft. Our officials are already planning third wave lockdowns because they need MORE deaths.
This doesn’t seem to be what all those alarming predictions of devastating spread and deaths expected to take place.
But will we learn a lesson from it?
I doubt it, it isn’t really about public health in dealing with a pandemic here, it’s more about how fear can be used to promote an agenda of social and cultural disruption to establish the new norms the PTB want.
While Sweden does the what it wants best or not, here the left is prepping the citizens for population control, they will need obedient citizenry to carry out their radical plans.

Hard to believe Sweden one of the most socialost of european nations would be the one not to lockdown
I wonder whether an honest review of this Covid disaster will ever take place and be made public. I suspect the answer is no (although depending on who gets elected up here in Canada as the next Prime Minister it may well happen) as this was handled less as true public health issue and more as a political weapon wielded by Democrats at all levels against Trump and the Republicans. The economies have been so damaged I suspect that the worst is yet to come and we (in both countries) will be years recovering from it. If another “wave” of Covid or some flu and the government tries this crap again then you may see civil disobedience on a scale never seen in your country before. I hope so anyway.
Doesn’t matter. We will do what the left wants, accept their mandates, because there is nobody to stop them. The republican party sure as hell isn’t going to stop them.
When the vaccines come, you have as much chance of avoiding it as you have every other thing the left wants you to do.

I’ll wager he likes competition and has no intention of supporting mandatory vaccination assuming an effective and safe one can even be developed, which is doubtful. No effort to create a Corona virus vaccine has yet succeeded.
I could be wrong, but compulsion is not his style. Of course, if he isn’t re-elected… queue Mr. Bill Gates who is drooling from his mouth already…
Sweden used common sense. They also did not allow it to be used as a political weapon. Of course the Republican establishment went along, they are progressives. Closet progressives, but progressives none the less. They played their part in this kabuki theatre, just like they always do.

Sweden may not have a clown like ‘Fauxchee’ running its health situation, but it does have fools in charge of their immigration policies: Sweden is doomes from within by the masses os islamists it allowed to enter its country.
As of this morning, August 5, the 7-day average deaths per million in the U.S. are FIVE TIMES that of no-lockdown Sweden (3.26 vs 0.64).

My brother has asthma. His doctor told him that it would be FAR better for him to actually catch this in the summer than to catch it in the winter. If he caught it in summer it is likely it would be like play out like bronchitis or a cold. If he catches in winter it will likely be much like pneumonia
Thanks to Fauxcheese and Quirks, the cure is many times worse than the condition itself. Both should be arrested and confined. They should get a fair trial before both are hung.
Just remember folks, Sweden did not lock down because they were not trying to oust Donald Trump, OR LEAVE THE EU.
The lockdown is to Stop Trump, weaken America, & convince Europeans that they must stay in the EU .
