Authorities in Texas have begun arresting illegal immigrants along the U.S.-Mexico border on trespassing charges, according to Texas Gov. Greg Abbott, who has blamed the Biden administration for the surge in illegal immigration and has put in motion his own border security plan to crack down on illegal crossings.
“Texas has begun arresting illegal immigrants who are trespassing in Texas or vandalizing property & fences. They are now being sent to this jail rather than being released like the Biden Admin. has been doing. We are adding more officers, National Guard & jails,” Abbott said in a tweet Thursday.

Assuming a average of 150 arrest per day and a capacity of 950 inmates, the facility will be full in just over six days. Some obvious question for our Governor are, “What’s the plan for next Friday?” and “Have you considered authorizing tent city jails, standardized pink underwear uniforms, and baloney sandwiches?”
Abbott stepped out of bounds when he ordered mask mandates and decided his government could define which businesses were “critical” and which could be shut down. I understand the initial Covid infections were scary, but fear isn’t justification for going beyond constitutionally granted powers. His popularity has sagged and he’s now offering halfhearted, showboat solutions. A more welcomed approach would be to arrest invaders on even the most minor violations of state laws. Park their butts in tent city jails to await trial or accept the offer of one way bus tickets or off to one of our welcoming liberal states or directly to DC. Get these invaders the hell out of Texas!
Gosh. Someone just figured out in 2021 we already have laws in the books that can mitigate the alien invasion?
Too bad all the governors and legislatures don’t seem to realize the 10th amendment gives the states power over the fed.
Sentence them to 30 days on a hard labor work gang and then trebuchet them back across the border with a notice that next time it will be hard labor for a year!!
