NORTH TEXAS (CBSDFW.COM) – Public colleges and universities across the state of Texas are preparing for the Campus Carry Law that takes effect August 1.

Texas state law requires all public universities to allow licensed concealed handguns owners in the classroom, but does give some leeway to schools, allowing for gun-free zones.

  1. You gotta admit-Texas gets a lot of things right.

One thing I really like is how chatty everyone is-I had 3 conversations at the grocery store this morning and a lady my gal met in town stopped by to check out my work this afternoon.

  2. Doc, that was one of the suggestions when TWU – Texas Women’s University merged with UNT – University of North Texas.

Unfortunately, Combined Universities of North Texas didn’t make the grade.

  3. I carried a revolver in the bottom of my lunch pale under a false plate. Never told anyone.
That’s the key. Took it on the subway and everywhere I went.
Pulled it 8 times fired it till empty once. Thought I would die that day.
But I had a gun and some extra ammo.
I knew musicians that carried in instrument cases.
    Doctors in medical bags.
Graphic Artists in there paint case.
    Golfers in the golf bags.

  4. I carried concealed from 9/11 till my retirement in 2013 where I worked. They never knew. My best friend never knew. My wife never knew. Only God and I knew and as far as I know, he approved.
