Republican Gov. Greg Abbott threatened to arrest and expel the Texas House Democrats who fled the state to avoid a redistricting vote if they do not return by Monday afternoon.

Dozens of Texas’ Democratic state representatives arrived in Chicago Sunday night to stall the vote. Shortly after Abbott released his statement, the Texas House Democratic Caucus issued a simple response, writing: “Come and take it.”

The statement also described Republicans’ proposed districts, which would potentially secure five new GOP U.S. House seats in next year’s midterm elections, as a “racist mid-decade redistricting scheme.”

Abbott criticized the Democrats’ dramatic departure, starting his call for them to return with, “real Texans don’t run from a fight.” More

  1. Hey Abbott. You want them back overnight? Issue an order to stop payment on all of their paychecks. The GREEDY BASTARDS realize they are not getting their salaries, they will be back, with their hands out, begging for their money.

  2. From what I understand expulsion would have to start with the Speaker of the texas house and then to the governor. the speaker is a RINO that the democrats helped to get in office. This could get ugly.

  3. The go to for Demwits is to cause chaos and confusion. No surprise these Texas Democrat obstructionists run to Illinois. The Midwest bastion of libtard policies lead by Gov. Putzer.
Texas Gov. Abbott should go ahead and issue warrants and set up their expulsion. These idiots are playing for keeps and probably getting Soros money to continue this baffonery.

  4. This will continue until there are real consequences that are handed out and enforced.

I suggest immediate removal from office, loss of gov’t pensions, loss of the ability to work in the private sector in any capacity, and some time in jail.

  5. The arrest warrants for the Texas House Democrats who failed to return by the deadline have been issued.

Speaker Dustin Burrows announced that he signed the warrants following the expiration of the time limit for the Democrats to return. This was verified by The Texas Tribune and Newsweek.

  6. Isn’t that stopping the function of government? You know, like that “insurrection” of January 6?

I know, it’s not an insurrection when they do it.

Any beet that taxpayers paid for that flight.
