Texas Senate Passes Bill Banning China from Purchasing Farm Land

PI: Texas lawmakers Tuesday preliminarily approved a bill that bans foreign governments, including China and Iran, from purchasing land in the Lone Star State.

Chinese purchases of American land and farmland has been a major under-the-radar issue in recent years.

Republican state senator Lois Kolkhorst said the legislation is a means to address national security and protect the state.

“Senate Bill 147 strives to put common sense guardrails to protect food and energy and national security, while at the same time, it keeps alive the American dream of homeownership to all, the ability to own a business,” Kolkhorst said.

Governments listed as part of the ban include the aforementioned China and Iran, along with Russia and North Korea.

Those foreign entities, along with companies headquartered within their borders, would be prevented from buying “real property” in Texas. More

  1. JB,
    Same thought.
Is the state of Texas going to seize land already purchased by CCP and/or Chinese citizens? (and 99.9% of every Chinese citizen that’s here in the US is a member of the CCP).
Is Texas also going to investigate every land buyer to make sure they’re not a shell front for the CCP?
A noble idea, to take back lands that have been taken by furriners. Many other countries restrict/forbid furriners in their country from buying/owning land. The best the furriners can do is a long term rental.
But that won’t prevent the LibTard DildoCrats from yelling, screaming, and setting their hair on fire.

  2. Yet we U.S. Taxpayers are shelling out $100 Million Dollars to pay for China to build a Chip Plant in Michigan or was it Illinois. So China will own the plant to produce Made in America Chips to run the World.

How do you say ‘Winning’ in Chinese?

  3. We need similar in Montana and Wyoming. That goes double for California, the bread basket of the planet.

Sometimes I think bureaucrats and other politicians are deliberately driving Americans out of California just so the Chinese can eventually dominate the worlds food supply.
