WaExaminer: The photos have stood the test of time: A spacesuit-clad Apollo astronaut stands proudly next to a red-white-and-blue American flag, his national trophy telling the lonely world “the United States was here.”
Unfortunately, all six flags they planted from 1969 through 1972 haven’t fared so well.
Images taken by NASA’s Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter in 2012 do show that at least five out six flags still stand.
The moon is a harsh mistress.

They’ll start repairing themselves now that we have an American President.
The flags are solid white now. Everybody will think it was the French that landed on the moon.
Soon to be replaced with Chinese flags. Hey, but at least NASA was busy for the last 8 years with muslim outreach!
That’s nuthin’, they’ve been disintegrating here for the past 8+ years. They now have a richer hue.

Well, we did “surrender” space exploration. So a white flag is appropriate.
President Trump has a duty to return and replace them. Think about it, those flags have been in constant service for nearly 50 years.
