The Aurora Project – IOTW Report

The Aurora Project

Originally budgeted in 2008 at $568 million, the VA hospital for the Denver area is now expected to be completed in 2017 and most likely cost north of $1 billion. This is not an isolated incident for the VA.

  1. Sorry to go OT, but two more cops have been shot. This time in West Virginia.

OFFICERS SHOT: We’ve confirmed that two officers have been shot on I-64 just west of Lewisburg. POLICE ARE SEARCHING for a red pickup truck with North Carolina tags.

Some radio traffic spoke of “middle eastern” suspects.

  2. In the last 10 years I have managed three major, new Hospitals in California for a Healthcare provider. CA per square foot costs vastly exceed anything found anywhere else in the country. There is only one way in hell costs have close to doubled and I place the blame squarely on the contractor and it’s subs who are greedy as hell, piss poor documents that lack detail to build what was intended and an absent Owner that constantly changes it’s mind. But a 100% increase and only half done? Someone needs to step in and take control. I could write a book on this topic. Bottom line….it’s Americans screwing America. Again.

  3. I try to stay out of hospitals, but the limited time I’ve been in them, they’re rather sparse. Not much architectural, ornate or fancy. Just hallways and rooms.

What does this place have that costs so much?

Okay I understand all the equipment may be expensive, but from what I gather, this is a construction project.
