Our lousy, pinhead Goernor in Wash. State has denied permission for my county Spokane County to reopen because we have more than 75,000 people in our county. I am sick of this tinhorn jackass treating us as a bastard stepchild that isn’t worthy of his consideration since we live in a conservative part of the State. Our local government and others in the same boat need to sue him to release us from this unconstitutional lockdown. And if anyone knows of a petition to remove Inslee from his office as Governor, please let me know as I will sign it in a heartbeat.

Friends, I trade with Brown Bear and have for decades. They operate DRIVE THROUGH fucking car washes and the one I frequent is right next door to a fucking marijuana retail store that has never closed and was full of customers milling around therein. What we have is a Goddamned three ring circle jerk going on here in Washington State.
On the way back into town we thought we would run the car through the car wash. I thought they were planning to reopen today, but was mistaken. They planned to reopen tomorrow.
This evening I got this email from Brown Bear Car Wash:
Reopening Delayed
It is with deep regret that we announce that the prior approval to reopen our car washes has been revoked by Governor Inslee’s office. In planning to reopen, Brown Bear had relied upon the prior official State of Washington communication stating that Phase 1 was to begin May 5th (see here). We are disappointed that the planned reopening of our car washes on May 7th is now being delayed.
Over the last several weeks, we have spent considerable time and resources developing a specific COVID-19 Safety Plan tailored to our operations which meets or exceeds CDC guidelines. That plan was thoroughly vetted by an employment law department at a respected Seattle law firm and provided to Governor Inslee’s office on April 30th.
Despite providing the state with our comprehensive Safety Plan nearly a week ago, it was not until late yesterday, May 5th, that Governor Inslee’s office emailed Brown Bear and communicated that we were not allowed to reopen “until the industry-specific guidance and safety criteria are issued” by the Governor’s office. Additionally, this morning we received a direct phone call from the Governor’s representative who communicated that while they acknowledged that there was “understandable confusion” created by the conflicting announcements coming from the State, they were forbidding us from reopening. They further acknowledged that our safety plan looked “great”, however, they said that they still needed input from various government agencies before they would allow us to reopen.
We are disappointed and frustrated that the State’s actions are creating confusion for our staff and customers, and we are working diligently to resolve this situation. It is inconceivable that after we publicized our plan to reopen on the 7th, that the State would afterwards contact us directly to forbid us from opening. Meanwhile they still allow the overwhelming majority of our competition to continue to operate with virtually no consequence for ignoring the Governor’s directive. While we have tried to support the Governor’s Executive Oder, and play by the rules, we have received unfair treatment that has singled us out and caused significant financial harm.
We are extremely saddened that the Governor has not taken a more cooperative approach to our business and we sincerely apologize to all our customers. We want you to know that we are anxiously working to help the state develop their guidelines so we can receive approval to resume our operations. We hope to be open soon to provide everyone with the opportunity to keep their car clean and free from potential COVID-19 contamination.
