What a great fcuking American. Inspiring, super competitive, mischievous, down to earth, above all.. NORMAL.

I can’t watch it, but I do remember watching the day it happened. I remember thinking it looked pretty minor.
NASCAR hasn’t been the same since and I don’t think I’ve watched a complete race since.

Used to love NASCAR. Now, don’t watch the races at all. It wasn’t the death of Dale that ruined it for me, but the constant rule changes, race for the chase, car of tomorrow bullshit, general pussification of the series.

Old Racist White Woman, and others.
I’m the same as you guys. Lot’s of new young drivers. Lot’s of great stories. I encourage you to start over. I’d left for along time. But I swear to God the sound of a piston driven engine turning 9,000 rpm can give me an adrenaline shot just from the sound. It’s the Conservatives Sport. I for one am hooked again.

OK, racing is topical tonight, but did anyone catch Trumps speech at FIU today? Trump was real good, as usual, but Melania was a star performer! She opened, spoke for only a couple minutes, but she showed us once again what a real First Lady is! We are so fortunate to have Donald and Melania Trump as our President and First Lady!

I don’t follow NASCAR and rarely watch it, but was at my sister’s house and they had the race on and when I saw that crash I knew that he wasn’t walking away from it. Jason Johnson died in a wreck last year, you always pray for participants safety, but if you watch enough racing you are going to see things happen that you wish you hadn’t. We also follow Indian relay and rodeo and those are also very dangerous sports.

“piston driven engine turning 9,000 rpm ”
Yes! 43 of them, (800 hp each) under full throttle on start/restart …the sound is deafening and you can feel it in your chest.

Ever do any straight line stuff? 1/4 mile. Remember the Van Halen drumb solo into “Bad for the Teacher”? That’s a alcohol burning funny car coming up pit road. But you need to crank the volume
Never really got into straight line.
I’d watch the Nationals, etc on the tube, but really didn’t know much about the drivers. Kallitas and Forces sure.
Their disasters are spectacular.
Darrell Waltrip paying tribute to Dale Earnhardt has always been just insulting to me.

Never been a NASCAR fan, but it’s hard not to know something about it, if only through osmosis. Everybody knew who Dale was, even if they never saw a race. I cried the day he died.

No Blushes –
Darryl Waltrip was a great racer, but he’s been a disgrace ever since. His brother, too.
Tbey both should have quietly gone away.

I remember going to a NASCAR race before Dale died. I was never a big fan, didn’t really know the players. We were walking around the gallery of race teams when it became apparent who the biggest whore of the whole shindig was. #3
My urologist’s favorite race car driver was Dick Trickle, may he rest in peace.
The day the heart and soul of the sport left. He wasn’t the one I rooted for but he made racing fun to watch.
Can’t even watch this tonight.
Rubbing is racing.
