  1. (Around 6 minutes in) Hooking up a heavy shaft to the PTO (Power Take Off) of a tractor isn’t an easy job. Granted, the tongue on that grain trailer gives him good access. But, with two arms, I seldom make an attachment as quickly as this gentlemen.

I really admire the spirit in this man and so many like him. Rather than whine about their situation, they get right back to work. I would like to think I could do the same. But a nagging self doubt makes me doubly impressed with his determination.

  2. That farmer is the spirit of AMERICA.
Seen a girl in his condition put gas in her
car with her feet and pay for it with a credit card.
Inspiration to all to do better with what you have.

  3. My grandfather lost an arm in a thrashing machine as a child. I heard it didn’t hold him back.
In 1913, a couple months before my dad’s third birthday (youngest of six children), he was driving (horse and buggy) to work as a night workman at a foundry. He took a new road and there was a storm. A tree came down and knocked a stump down on the buggy, crushing him and killing him. The horse broke away and ran home. Suddenly, the widow with six children, ranging from just under 3 to 11, faced challenges she never dreamed of. She went back to teaching in a one room school , the 11 year old took on the roll of running a lot of things his dad would have done. Neighbors all pitched in and helped on family crops.
I have a copy of the 1913 write up and it still brings tears to my eyes, even though it happened som 53 years before I was born.

  4. This guy is amazing. He wanted to farm and by golly he’s doing it. I’ve tried hooking an auger up and its a challenge for me with 2 arms. I had to balance the PTO on one leg while trying to lift it to get it connected. Then hooking hydraulic lines to the ports isn’t easy either they have to go in just right or you have oil dripping everywhere. Soooo I let my husband do it! Lol

  6. Andy has been on my youtube radar for a long time. I’ve had numerous projects where I’ve thought, hey we should record this and upload it. Then I figure, what a pain in the ass. The work sucks enough, then to have to get all the shots, edit it, etc. Well here’s Andy.

  7. This guy can teach a lot of “victims” about life. God Bless him. He truly epitomizes prioritizing what is important in life…living and making the best out of it under any circumstances.

  8. I wont be whining about stuff today. To learn and adapt to his situation is a testament to everyone. I am grateful I didnt have to do learn to use my feet. Did you notice he was right-footed??? Hows his penmanship? Just curious, not mocking. And his equipment. WOW. Never seen a farmer with such shiny stuff. The man is incredible.

I saw this this morning. Sad. A WW2 B-11 crashed and burned. Not many left. Not much info yet. https://www.courant.com/breaking-news/hc-br-windsor-locks-bradley-international-airport-plane-crash-20191002-jfkph65krrfhxlrlb3eehksdiu-story.html
