Fox News

Zhu Yi, the 19-year-old U.S.-born figure skater competing for China in the Beijing Winter Olympics, was slammed on Chinese social media this weekend after her botched performance in the team event bumped China out of the top three.

Zhu, born in California, took a hard fall during her first combination attempt on Saturday, slamming into the wall before later stumbling on a triple loop attempt for a last-place finish with a 47.03 score.  More

China’s Zhu Yi left Olympic ice in tears after falling twice in Monday’s free skate during team competition.

The U.S.-born skater competing for China was previously the subject of online vitriol on Chinese social media platform Weibo after falling in Sunday’s short program. Her finish in the short program saw host nation China fall from third place to fifth. “Zhu Yi has fallen” trended on Weibo late Sunday after she crashed to the ice and missed another jump later in her performance. More

  1. This is one of six Americans that are competing for the ChiComs. That I know about. The rest are lily white. They should lose their citizenship and be forced to move to China. China’s Ice Hockey Team had at least four of them.

  2. It’s almost like the U.S.A. sent her to the Chinese to deny a spot on their Olympic team to a deserving member and to lose on purpose to put the Chicoms out of medal contention.

    Excellent work Zhu.

  3. I’m guessing that her Pfizer booster shot just kicked in.

Quite common for Americans who can’t cut it on Team USA to compete for countries with ambiguous “citizenship” requirements. Just look at all the LPGA “Koreans” who were born and live in the US.

  4. Her performance is likely a response to the Chinese coaching style — beatings and a pre-performance pep talk, “win or die.” No pressure.

Her family probably had a lot to do with her decision to defect, motivated by money, official extortion and an overpowering ethnocentrism.

I’m also guessing the US State Dept. facilitated the deal and assured her she could come back when she wanted to.

  5. I was wondering if this story would come up after reading about the traitor bitch on GP last week (yes, I was hoping she would fail in her upcoming competition…mission accomplished). Being that she disgraced her “country” maybe she’ll disappear like the tennis player did a few months ago.

  6. “One can’t “Defect” from the US.”

Yeah, I saw that written in 2 other articles and thought it was a strange word to use, seeing as how our border has tons of defective people sneaking in. lol.
    ugh.

  7. I didn’t watch any of it, but I giggled at the pictures.
I’ve read comments from a few regretful athletes who are stuck in camp covid right now.

And others who are grossed out by the decrepit rooms they’re housed in at genocide Olympics village.
