(CNN) Saturday’s dedication of the National Museum of African-American History and Culture brought together the president who signed into law the funding for the museum and the president who was in office during its completion.

But the gathering of the 43rd and 44th first couples also saw the reuniting of two unlikely friends.
Over the past eight years, former President George W. Bush and First Lady Michelle Obama have been seen becoming increasingly chummy. At public events, the two can often be found sitting next to each other, sharing a laugh or lending a hand to hold.
Saturday’s ceremony was no exception. During the event, Obama reached over and grabbed Bush into a hug as their spouses clapped and looked on.  MORE

  1. I was done with all variety of Bush when the Quaker Oats Bush started trashing Palin in 2008 when Palin hadn’t said a damn thing to or about them. Then they started getting chummy with the Clintons and now they’re voting for Hillary? Idiots. Fuck them sideways with one of Bill’s cigars.

  2. Bush is such a disappointment. Not so much for this, as for an event of this type they have to make nice even if they hated it other. No, Bush made a good wartime President but a crappy domestic one. I read where Bush was going to start to look into the sub prime mortgage/security fiasco as early as 2003 but was scared off by Barney Frank and Chuck Schumer who threatened to throw the race card on him if he went ahead. I think Bush peed his pants a little and slunk off. If the country had hit that mess in 2003 the economic fallout (including the massive debt) could have been greatly reduced and a lot of poor and low income folks wouldn’t have been destroyed.

  3. Reminds me of Chris Christy holding hands with Obama on the beach after the New Jersey floods and right before Mittens bit the dust.
Christy and the entire Bush clan have earned the dust bins of notoriety. Notoriously Liberal Progressives.
